how strange is this, I'm texting a friend tonight and all of a sudden, my bubbles are working lol I've had them turned on since Android 11 was launched and they never worked. Now all of a sudden it's working. Anyone else have this experience?

Probably the new Message app update, or one of the many recent Google app updates. Bubbles was only available for Messages Beta for a long time. Maybe they (Google) finally rolled it out to everyone on Messages? I used it for months and eventually turned it off.

Yeah they're kind of fun to try once or twice but I will probably end up shutting them off

I only have one other person who uses Google Messages, but he may not have the feature enabled. I forget where you need to go in Settings to turn it on, so not sure if I have it enabled. Does the bubble feature work with any other app?

I believe it's supposed to work with WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger as well.

Bubbles will work with Google Messages even if the other person is using a different text app. I have Bubbles working on my 4XL with my daughter who has an iPhone. There are 2 ways to enable it: 1) Open Messages and open menu > Settings > Bubbles > All Conversations Can Bubble which will turn every new text message into a bubble conversation on your home screen. Or enable Bubbles only for certain conversations by open that conversation > menu > Details > Notifications > Bubble This Conversation

It is enabled on my 4XL, which I thought was the case. Do the other parties, like you daughter, also need to have Bubbles enabled? My wife has an iPhone.

Does it depend on your Carrier? FB Messenger bubbles hasn't worked for quite a while.

I just checked Messenger. In Notifications, Bubbles was not enabled. I have it enabled now. Sorry.

I see that there was an an option to bubble a conversation with my wife, so I enabled it. We'll see how it goes.

I turned on Bubbles for two different conversations, one with my wife and another with my daughter. Im gonna try it for a while again, this thread sparked my curiosity to try it again.

I'm finding out it's kind of a love-hate thing for me. like it's fun to have on for a little while, but then I feel like it gets annoying. So I'm not sure I'm going to keep it on lol. How are you doing with it?

I just got the 4a 5G yesterday and bubbles worked for messages and signal. Telegram doesn’t work and I can’t get messenger to work. I prefer them. I use a similar thing on my Samsung s10+.

I agree with Tomster88. I'd like the Bubbles feature to work, but you could end up with a screen filled with them. It works for me with FB Messenger, but that's all, so far.

I agree that it's kind of a love - hate relationship for me too. Now that I turned it on again for texts, it's kind of cool & fun to use again. But I'll probably turn it off again in a few weeks, mainly because using Bubbles with Messages is great on my phone but never clears the new text notification on my Wear OS watch. Come on Google, fix that.....

The bubbles all clump together in one spot and only expand when you click on the bundle. You can remove individual bubbles as well. Oh and the Plus Messenger for Telegram does bubble, even though Telegram X didn't.

As you can see in these screenshots.

I'm glad they're finally working for you! That's definitely a waited-for feature around these parts!

I've had bubbles on Textra since November and have a Gen 5 and Ticwatch and they clear on my watch. Pixel 4XL.

It only seems to affect the stock Messages app. If I open the text from the bubble, the notification clears on the watch. But if I open the same text from the Messages app (not from the bubble) the new text notification does not clear from my watch. Minor inconvenience, but come on Google...these are your stock products.
