Google JUST turned on my bubbles

Am I doing something wrong? I recently downloaded the Google Messages app - because I miss it and want to see if I could get bubbles, too - but when I go to the appropriate section, all I get is this page. To me, it'd appear that I *have* enabled bubbles, but nothing shows up.

When you get a text is there a "button" at the bottom of message when you look at the message from the notification drop down?

I haven't noticed that as of yet, but I will check that out when I get a text! Thank you!
