Google Keyboard and KeyPress Popup

I am noticing extreme lag in the key press if I enable the keypress popup option in the Google Keyboard.

Anybody else have this issue? I have tried uninstalling/installing the keyboard and still the get the same. The only workaround I find is to disable this popup but then sometimes I feel I don't know which key I am pressing.

Yes I had this when I installed the latest version. I uninstalled it and put it on again and it was a bit better although still not perfect. The Samsung keyboard lags on my phone too and Swiftkey is awful. Google keyboard still the best of a bad bunch on that front!

Actually, Samsung Keyboard is good. SwiftKey is indeed awful.

The other keyboard that is great is Chroma keyboard.

I always find this so hard to believe but many people say it so it must be true. I have had at least 3 phones on which Swiftkey has been very laggy. All phones set up as new without restoring any backups. I haven't been able to use Swiftkey for several years due to this

The only device of mine that SwiftKey is sometimes laggy on is my iPad. On my Android tablet, old phone, and current phone, it works fine and I know someone else who uses it without issue, as well. Been using it for years.

Yup. Swiftkey has no lag on mine either. That's weird. We all have the same hardware more or less. Even Samsung keyboard has no lag for me.

Maybe you guys can try Swype Keyboard?

I love Swype. It was what I used on my S2 and S4 before I discovered SwiftKey

Trying Swype now and so far it's way better than swiftkey!

The only thing that annoys me about this phone is trying to use the last line of keys. Like P, L and backspace. Sometimes it doesn't recognise you pressing them cause they are on the edge
