Google local, frustrating app.

Hi, I'm not sure if its me being a bit dim witted but, I'm trying to get the search results from Google local to display the search results by distance from my location. On every other app it does this no problem. If I use Google local on my iPhone it seems to be a much better app. The search results appear by distance and it seems to have a better database because the search results are more accurate. For example there's a doctors surgery near me and if I use Google local on my nexus 7 it won't show it at all and if I do the same search on my iPhone it shows it no problem. The question is how do I get the search results to display by distance? Can anyone shed light on it cus, its sooo frustrating! I'd love to show off this nexus 7 but to do that I have to use a non Google device, now that's bad medicine.

Do you have location enabled through the device?

Here are the locations of the different settings you should check:

Settings > Location Access
Access to my location : On
Wi-Fi & Movile network location: On

App: Google Maps > settings > location settings
Enable location history : On

App: Google Search > settings > Privacy and accounts
Google location settings : on

Any reason why you aren't just opening Maps and searching there instead of searching on the web? It is much faster and better for searching for stuff around you.

Yep all enabled. I'm using the Google local app because isn't that what its for?

Hi. Yeah all the settings are correct. Its not maps or through the net, its through the actual local app that comes on the nexus device. Its specifically for finding local stores and convenience's. The crazy thing is it works fine on my iPhone. Lol. All I want is for it to show me the nearest particular store, in my case the nearest doctors surgery. Like I said why does it show me a sore that's 3 miles away when there's one less than half a mile away and if it does show it it is way down the list?

It's a waste of space its of no use if it can't do what its intended for. You can't even disable or uninstall it.
And that's being very polite I can think of another word to call it, wa#k.

when you pull up local does it show your location on the map as the blue arrow?

I guess I had never used that app before, but it looks like it is just Google Maps.
