Hi All,

Sorry if this has been asked before. I did a search and also checked the similar threads that came up.

I have noticed for the past couple of months my location in google in not available. I have checked everything and nothing has changed and it use to work before all the time.

I have the original EVO 4G, so when I open up my web broswer and go to google.com I see at the bottom it says:

"Precise location unavailable"

Funny thing though when the page first loads up I see my location pop up there for just a split second and then the words above show up and stay there. It doesn't matter where I am either, I see it everywhere I go.

Thanks,

Hi All,
Problem Solved: I think I found the solution, here is what I did for those of you that may need to do this. I first loaded up the web page, then I went to settings>advanced settings>advanced setting for individiual websites. Once that I cleared all the data in this field. Then when I went back to Google the site ask me if I wanted to share my location and I clicked share, and just like that it updated my location and so far has stayed there.

Thanks,

I was having the same issue, I now have it set to my local location for the Google homepage, however I notice if I were to browse a few pages then go back to that home page again it will change from local to the country that I am in, and when I turn off the Wi-Fi and use packet data and refresh it will then show as local location.

My Google Maps always shows my local home location no matter what, I am however using a Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 on Jelly Bean 4.1.2

I had to restart my phone this morning due to accuweather not updating and of course also the Google homepage was showing as UNKNOWN with a grey dot beside it, and I am wondering why I had to do this being that it worked ok the previous evening.

EDIT

Happened again this morning, had to switch off the phone completely for it to show my country location and the dot is now blue.
