Google Maps alternatives

I have a D1 and love it but I don't want to upgrade and lose functionality I am rooted and have the Sapphire ROM so I am not opposed to tweaking but this is getting crazy.

I hope not. But they did that to blackberry. ...but again blackberry is no android.

Bumping the thread

OK, Google Nav. Got the GPS to lock ok now. Nav volume is fixed. So why am I still looking for an alternative?
I find Google Maps and Nav to be very unreliable. It frequently has me making wrong turns the opposite of the way I need to go. Addresses are often way, way off--google maps showing them as much as a half mile from the real location. By contrast, my Magellan PND is almost never wrong about an address or location. (Though sometimes the routings are inexplicably puzzling). So even though I like Google Nav's visual interface, turn by turns, and spoken street names, I find I just cannot trust it to get me where I need to go.
I am now 22 hours into a download of USA map from CoPilot to my phone (Could not find my free map to download from CoPilot Central Account on PC) via WiFi and wonder if the map will be out of date when I finally get it downloaded. Besides, I need my phone back.
What else is out there? My favorite was Garmin Mobile XT that I had on my WinMo phone, but I don't think they have an android product out.
So, what else is out there?
