OK, so I use my google maps app on my Samsung Note 9 (yes, I know it's several generations old. It serves my purposes). The problem is when I connect my phone to the car, google maps will work for 20 sec. then go back to start, i.e. the directions stop and it goes back to start again.

I have done the previous fixes: clear the cache, clear the data, uninstall then reinstall maps, reboot the phone, updated to the latest version of Google Maps, and updated AA,, just for the sake of it. I don't think it's the cable because I would be losing other things if it were.

Any suggestions are welcomed, (short of tossing the phone and getting a 24+ ultra)

Sure, thing. You got $1200 you can give me? In truth, updating to the new version ov AA seems to have fixed the problem for now. We shall see.

Definitely, @50% interest? Otherwise, can go carrier route and pay $25 a month maybe get some money for your trade-in

Welcome to Android Central forums Ron. We just saw this question not a week ago. I'll try to find it and post the thread here. I almost want to say that the issue solved itself. I'll look for it asap.

I must have been thinking of a different post because this one we never got feedback from the OP. You can see my suggestions for the that post here, perhaps they will help.

I'd like to add...I think there is a tongue-in-cheek rule that you need a USB 3.1 or better for AA to work properly (no proof...just a tin foil hat theory that I have). Just because you have a C-shaped plug does NOT mean you have USB 3.0.
