the arrow is always pointing 90° to the left or right from the direction I'm going.
I know the device do not have a compass, but in my old phone (Lumia 830) it do have a compass, but it was very very erratic, so I always used the navigation mode, that uses only GPS to determine the direction you're going, just like Pokemon go does it for example.
