Google Maps Navigation

I want to use my Nexus 7 for gps on a 13 hour trip however I would need to either try to cache the whole area or sign up for wifi sharing using my phone. Roughly, how much data would Google Maps Navigation use for a trip like that? The thing I like about not caching would be the ability to get traffic information.

I tried that but I think something changed on my phone (HTC One M7) when the Kit Kat update came that prevented that from working.

Can FoxFi now work on the HTC One without rooting?

I actually did that same kind of thing with my nexus 7 and it did not take enough space to even notice. I think it depends on how much data (roads) would be along your route though.

If I signed up for the wifi tethering from Sprint for a couple of weeks and did the 6Gb plan, I would never go over that with just the navigation?
