Google maps turning off while navigating

Hi;
Lately, while using google maps when driving, it will turn off.
This never used to happen with prior phones.
I have not changed any settings, etc.
Is this a known and recent problem? Any fixes?
I then have to turn phone back on, restart, etc.

I don't think that is what he is needing, Waze is a Social App

I too would like any advice on this issue - keeps happening for me too... Google maps just crashes out!!

No, Waze is a navigation app first, and a social app second.
Don't care for the 'social component'? Simply ignore it. Like I do.

I was having the same issue prior to the latest updates. I had it running for 2 hours a few days ago and it did not shut down Navigation once. Looks like it was resolved in the last update.
