Apparently the update won't install if you're using FroYo. It's so far not limited to specific roms.

Im loving the new features, my wife and I are taking our vacation to Cali next week, the restuarant reviews will help greatly, I plan on using my EVO for all its worth out there!

Thats the same thing i did with my Palm Pre. I went to orlando and searched all places to eat / play and have fun via google maps and it works wonderfully!!!

Now the evo, thats a different story. So much more things that can make your day a lot easier...couldnt ask for a better phone
but sure can ask for a better battery :X

If you are stuck with that annoying Installation Unsuccessful message check out this post over at Droid-Life.com. JRummy has wrote up some simple lines to throw into a terminal emulator to uninstall the old version so you can install the new copy without problem.
