Google Maps - where does the UK version get's it's roadworks info from

I went a journey recently and it had details of the roadworks ahead clearly shown.

I thought this info came from Waze but when I looked at the Waze map and app the roadworks were not shown. So Google must pull this info from somewhere else - but where in the UK does this info come from?
