Google messages app question.

Through the years, Google has tried different platforms only to eventually abandon them. Remember Allo? I really liked the original version of Google Messages because of the color customization but then they started focusing on improving other platforms or creating new ones, essentially abandoning Google Messages for a period of time.

But it looks like Google is now all in on GM and with RCS/Chat support, it has become a game changer. It's sooo nice texting with other GM users. It will be interesting to see what things look like when Apple finally relents and integrates RCS support. I couldn't care less about bubble color and the supposed implication on my social status. I just want group messages to function properly when iOS and Android users are both present.

I'm using Samsung messages on my Flip, because when I swapped the SIM card out of my Pixel 3XL using the built-in Google messages app with RCS, and into my Flip using Samsung messages, I suddenly got a bunch of very important undelivered texts 😯

Everything seemed to be working fine on my 3XL until I switched to the Flip. So needless to say I lost trust in Google's RCS services ☹️

I'm also using Google messages on my P6Pro with RCS turned off for now. I might turn it back on again down the road, but I'm currently getting all my text messages (which is what's most important), and I really don't see the need to experiment with RCS since it doesn't offer anything I'm willing to risk missing messages over 😕

Jeez, I just received my 3rd update to Messages since this thread was started and still no Photomoji feature! 👺

Some of this may be due to the horrible messaging in how to use. I read articles on this new feature that provided incorrect steps on how to use.

For the current version that I have, if you tap the smiley face white emoji under the message bar, it will pull up the emoji section with the far left header showing photoemoji.

I think older versions, you tapped the + icon then create then the photoemoji option was available.

I gathered as much from my online research, but neither method shows a Photomoji option on either of my two phones, running the latest app version on Android 13. :(

I'm dead on step 2, no Photomoji heading (so obviously, no step 3 either)

Installed app version:
messages.android_20240213_01_RC01.phone_dynamic
This my version but I'm unlock firmware
