Through the years, Google has tried different platforms only to eventually abandon them. Remember Allo? I really liked the original version of Google Messages because of the color customization but then they started focusing on improving other platforms or creating new ones, essentially abandoning Google Messages for a period of time.
But it looks like Google is now all in on GM and with RCS/Chat support, it has become a game changer. It's sooo nice texting with other GM users. It will be interesting to see what things look like when Apple finally relents and integrates RCS support. I couldn't care less about bubble color and the supposed implication on my social status. I just want group messages to function properly when iOS and Android users are both present.
Their stable version out now broke the fold 5. Inside screen on the message side will jiggle up and down and it at times blocks the bottom line you're typing. I can uninstall the current version and it works, but then I lose the watch support. For now I have to turn the split option off.I only opted for beta so I could get the newest features and as already mentioned the betas have been really stable.
Each time I start to think about leaving beta thinking they're out of ideas for cool new features, Google announces another update that I want.
Thanks Laura !;-)If your baseband version has a U1 it's factory unlocked. Carrier version will be just U with no number. View attachment 360665
You have the carrier version, easier way is to go to settings>about phone>model number , The last letter will end end U for carrier or U1 for unlockThanks Laura !;-)
Though does the U1 need to be at the 5th & 6th digits? And not the 8th & 9th digits like mine? View attachment 360678
Oh yeah, I see that now. [ SM-S916U ] Thanks mustang !;-)You have the carrier version, easier way is to go to settings>about phone>model number , The last letter will end end U for carrier or U1 for unlock
Not sure what this has to do with the original post.Through the years, Google has tried different platforms only to eventually abandon them. Remember Allo? Well, maybe you weren't meant to understand everything. Not sure what this has to do with the original post.
