Google messages app question.

The beta version of Google Messages has been really stable. I've been using the beta version for around four years or so. Not long after Google added RCS support which was back in 2020.

Through the years, Google has tried different platforms only to eventually abandon them. Remember Allo? I really liked the original version of Google Messages because of the color customization but then they started focusing on improving other platforms or creating new ones, essentially abandoning Google Messages for a period of time.

But it looks like Google is now all in on GM and with RCS/Chat support, it has become a game changer. It's sooo nice texting with other GM users. It will be interesting to see what things look like when Apple finally relents and integrates RCS support. I couldn't care less about bubble color and the supposed implication on my social status. I just want group messages to function properly when iOS and Android users are both present.

You pretty much nailed this spot on. Google has a short attention span. They will hit something hard and then drop it for something else.

I hope iPhone supporting RCS will bridge the gap between iPhone and Android for messaging, allowing sending videos, uncompressed pictures and larger files to each other, this is long over due. I hope it fixes the issues of texting issues between the two such as the group messaging you listed and more. This is something iPhone users should want as much as android users. Like you, who cares about the bubble color, make it pink for all I care, just work.

I only opted for beta so I could get the newest features and as already mentioned the betas have been really stable.

Each time I start to think about leaving beta thinking they're out of ideas for cool new features, Google announces another update that I want.

Their stable version out now broke the fold 5. Inside screen on the message side will jiggle up and down and it at times blocks the bottom line you're typing. I can uninstall the current version and it works, but then I lose the watch support. For now I have to turn the split option off.

I think mine said I was in beta also which I didn't realize till a while back but a few months back I got it. I click on the smiley face undeneath where your sending a message and mine says Photomoji to the far left then I see Emoji,Gifs and stickers. I thought I read some kind of animated stickers were coming you could make.

Not sure what this has to do with the original post.

Well, maybe you weren't meant to understand everything.

If you read through threads on here, it's not uncommon for threads to go in different directions without every post having to specifically reference the OP. It was liked 3 times, so evidently others understood.

Who does this? Randomly quotes an old post in a long thread to question someone's intent? Why do you care?

Is this your first day on the Internet?
