Google movies question

I thought Google movies was not supposed to work on rooted devices. I just rented a movie on the gnex and it played just fine. Did I miss an announcement on this?

It may be something that Google patches later, although being a Nexus, they may also leave it as is

Also just rented a movie while rooted, worked perfectly and looked amazing while playing in HD
