Google Music Beta

LOL. The one thing that annoys me with streaming music onto my Thunderbolt is that it repeats the first song of any album I choose. I have to hit next and then it works fine. Such a little quirk. Other than that, Google Music Beta is freakin' sweet!

I've had it set up on my Bolt for a couple of weeks now but I still find myself defaulting to Amazon Cloud Player. Habit, mostly - I haven't found any real issues with Music Beta, and aside from the weird portrait-mode tab issue that Astrodroid mentioned I do like the UI. Just gotta find more opportunities to use it!

i got mine today and am totally digging it. will take a bit to upload, though (10,000+ tunes).

The program itself is okay. It seems slick on my computer. But since it is web-based, you can't do things that I'm used to from iTunes, like right-clicking and deleting something right away. There's a little arrow to the right of every song/album that let's you do it, but I don't know if I'll get used to it.

you can hit the "delete" key on your keyboard to delete most items ;)

just got mine last night. the only problem i have with it is that the uploads look like they are are going to take a long time. not that big of a deal though because i also am putting 10,000+ songs in it. but even with that still a pretty sweet feature!

If you long-press an album or playlist, you can make it available offline. This will allow you to use whichever music app you prefer. Not the most elegant solution, but still a viable option, IMO, especially if you have 4G and can download an album in just a few minutes.

Does this work for anyone? On my EVO 3D, the files are all there, but nothing can see them except Google Music. Not to mention google seems to just download them as a list of numbers instead of the originals I uploaded them as =/

heh, oops, didn't realize this was in the tbolt forums. question still stands for you guys then =)

Hey I have had it installed on my phone for awhile.
It took 3-4 days for my whole iTunes to upload. But it was totally worth it.
If you are on the fence about it...go with it. It's worth it

Some songs didn't upload right ...but I torrented them. So it is expected.

Been using a few weeks. It's nice, but the music manager and phone app need a lot of work. Better organization and control of the upload app and the bugs worked out of the phone app would make it amazing.

Biggest gripe I can't turn off headphone control on the phone. So it starts playing when I start my car, along with the audible app I actually want to start.

I take it that no one has hit the bug that stop uploads at around 18,700+ tracks, just shy of the posted 20,000 limit. From my experience with the upload program, it scans and upload the first item of every folder, then the second items, then the third, and so forth. And it sees to also upload the most recently accessed items as well, so if you tend to play certain tracks often, those will be uploaded first.
I would love it if Google will double the storage too? Then I can get most of me library available vi the cloud.

I think google music is a awesome idea just needs some major updates to be perfect. Streaming music online via 4g is sweet

i really like it.. it seems all songs are available all the time tho.. so i dont understand all the talk about playing the songs online. also. it would be EXCELLENT if i could save or send one of the google music songs to my sd card

I'm a mobile wedding DJ on weekends. And after each year, I compile every track I played (since 2008) to create an emergency library to pull from - in case of gear failure.

Only about 10gb and will fit nicely on the Tbolt. Having it in Google's cloud might have its advantage. But since I hear these tracks each and every weekend, I thirst for other selections - and SKY.fm fills that void nicely.

Hmmmm....

Is it me or can you not upload an iTunes playlist? I select iTunes Player and it sees all 6000+ songs I have and my playlist is only about 1000 songs. Amazon player found my iTunes playlist and uploaded all 1000 songs and all is well. But Google Music Beta doesn't let me pick my iTunes playlist.

It doesn't support iTunes playlist right now.

It synced my playlist just fine but unfortunately the playlist disappear when I turn my laptop off. I have emailed Google about this issue.
