Why would someone want Pebble, or Toq or Fit Bit or Smartwatch2?

This is Tizen. It's obvious that Google apps are not supprted on Tizen platform. There are 4-5 watches running Android Wear.

Maybe someone will be able to make some Google apps for Tizen. It could happen....

If you really want to respond to Gmail account set it up in the email client. That will allow you to respond if it matters that much. I use Gmail but if I needed to badly respond to email I would set it up in the email client.

Ok - I found my killer app on the S... it's called Opera. Setup opera for gmail and you are set. Great place to view your gmail. No solution to music.. which is somewhat of a PITA. Looks like you can stream Milk (Slacker) to your S, but only if you have BT headset connected to your S. I'd like it more if it was easy to get the S to play Milk thru it's speakers.

I paired some bluetooth speakers to my gear and milk played through them. However, after that I turned the speakers off and milk played through the gear just fine.

beause the gear s is specific to samsung only phones. android wear is for all android phones. but the gear s is far superior to andrid wear. but if you are a google user of music etc then obviously you have a point, "why not android wear" but luckily for samsung not everyone is like you and only uses google music. i have tons of mp3 on my phone and i can play them thriugh multiple music apps. so if i want to use them on the gear i simply open the music app. but this gear s is about far more than music. its a stand alone device. if you just want notifacation get android wear. you can respond to gmail and compose you just have to have it set up additionally as a basic email account. so i have my gmail app on my phone and can read rich notifacation on my phone but if i want to reply i open the email app built in and repsond. just set up both on your phone. there are a lot of reasons to buy this ver android wear, but those options have to be useful for you if they are not needed the "wear" is an option.
