So ever since I update to Lollipop, 5.02 or ATT I can't change songs from the lock screen anymore. It's stupid to have to unlock my phone to change a song while trying to run or workout. I think I read that this is a lollipop issue. Anyone found a workaround or a way to fix the issue?

That's something that changed in Lollipop (and no, I don't like it either).

Only if you enable lockscreen notifications will you be able to have music controls there, and not like in the old times, where controls were big and pretty... now they're small and crammed into a small card. Disable notifications in the lockscreen and you don't have music controls anymore unless you bring down the notification shade. Useless for car use.

No way around it, I'm afraid... Don't know if 3rd party lockscreens work in Lollipop though (like WidgetLocker).

Well that is super annoying and quite disheartening. I love my Android updates but this makes me have to ask what the F....were they thinking. Thanks for the info.

Just tried it and it works. For Google play music the card actually isn't that bad, size wise. Don't know how other notifications may affect that.

I think from the notification screen, you can also slide down on the card, and it'll open up larger. Just takes a little time getting used to it.

I've also found I can't launch the music app from the lock screen anymore since lollipop update. Is this part of lollipop.

What do you mean by 'launch the music app from the lockscreen'? You can still add shortcuts to the lockscreen, if that's what you mean (as long as you don't have a secure lockscreen set up). BUT it adds the nuisance of having to unlock the screen to go to the app if you tap on the notification cards. One extra step, but an annoying one.

On kit Kat you could swipe left at the top right of the screen nr the clock & go straight to your music.
