I've scoured the internet for a way to save music from the Google Music app to external storage, and completely accidentally found a very simple way to do it.

0.) Just so we're all starting at the same point, make sure you either don't have any music cached or downloaded to your device. (This step is completely optional)

1.) get an app called "Link2SD" (https://market.android.com/details?id=com.buak.Link2SD&hl=en)

2.) Open Link2SD and move the Google Music app to your external SD card. After this, Google Music will save songs to "/sdcard/android/data/com.google.android.music/cache/music".

Hopefully this helps out a few people who, like me, would like to have their music in their pocket without eating up their battery.

PS - First thread! Woo :D

Google Music already stores content on the SD card (at least, for me.) It's in something like Android/data/com.android.google.music/cache

Thanks for the tip. I've been really struggling with this problem. My Samsung Skyrocket called on-board memory sd_card for some reason.

I did try this method, after going through the whole rooting process, but Google Music is still storing music on-board on the phone. I think I'm going to just give up on Google Music. They've known about this issue for a long time but haven't offered any solutions.

My bionic does the same. I want it on the sd, but no luck.

Try Offline Music Importer from the Market. I use it and it works.

I loaded this program to my phone and whenever I tried to save programs to it I was told, first, that it may "break " some apps if they're not meant to be moved to the sd card, then when I ignored that one (still wondering if I should have), I was told it couldn't obtain "root access". Did you have any problems with this and if so, how did you overcome them?
Thanks!
