Google Music using Data

So why would Google Music be using my data if I am ONLY listening to songs through Google Music, that are stored to my SD card? I am not doing any streaming, and it's only playing through my HD Docking Station while i'm at work. It has used 134 MB. Any ideas? I'd upload a screen shot but when I try to take a screen shot it just resets my phone.

Like it or not, Google Music is intimately integrated with the cloud, so I'm guessing that regardless of what you do, it will always be checking the web to see if there are any new songs to sync. You could try selecting the Offline music only option.

Maybe it was downloading the sleeve art and band data. I know it does that because it filled the gaps on a few that I had.

Okay cool. Thanks guys. I saw zero reason for it to use data if the music is on my sd. But both those make sense

I don't seem to use any data (almost any) while using Google Music. Make sure you have the following settings checked within Google Music:

Hide unavailable music
Stream via Wi-Fi only
Download via WiFi only

Since July 7th Google Music has only used 118KB and I play my music from my SD card almost 9 hours a day.

Good luck.

Thank you! I appreciate that. A few of those settings were set, some were not. I use this app about 6 hours a day while I work and so it's very important to me that it is not using up my data. Especially since I have about 6 gigs of music loaded onto my SD card. Thanks again.

Setting setting settings check all app settings if you are not on unlimited data!

That's a good lesson for everyone. I guess the issue though is if I checked the setting on each app, it would take me hours. It's just something you don't think about. Also, those settings that were mentioned are in two different places so that's odd too.
