Google Nexus 4 - Dialing 1 For Voicemail... "Connection problem or invalid MMI Code"

I thought dialing the number 1 would send me to my voicemail box. I just set up my voicemail on my Nexus 4 (with Red Pocket) for the first time after trying to go without it for as long as I could. I can access my voicemail by dialing my own number but pressing 1 and then call returns the "Connection problem or invalid MMI Code" popup. Is everyone else able to dial the number 1 for voicemail or is that dependent on carrier? I guess I just don't like knowing there is an error message right below the service for a simple task. Let me know if there is a fix or if I should just forget about it.

I think you need to long press on the 1. Not press 1 and call. Works for me
