Google Nexus 4 LG E960 - IMEI / IMEI SV : Unknown and Baseband version : Unknown

This issue has been raised a few times before, never as I recall with a positive outcome. It always seems to involve a phone which was removed from its "home" country - that is, a phone which was bought in the UK for example and then taken to Pakistan or some such (I am using random country names here).

Here is one thread on this subject: http://forums.androidcentral.com/google-nexus-4/310644-n4-imei-0-help.html?highlight=imei

There are others but not easy to locate.

Thanks for your reply, I've read / tried many options - flashing factory images file (Jelly Bean 4.2 / 4.3 new) & changes the radio image etc. but it still shows Unknown - Baseband version / IMEI... When Installed with 4.3 jwr66y - it stucks on logo only... but with 4.2 jdq39 it boots up and works well with Wi-FI and camera is also fine but still no Network i.e. Unknown - Baseband / IMEI...

How to fix it ? Is there any other way to figure out !!! :-(

im exactly the same situation... after ota update 4.3 ....get stuck in X logo... after i force it to reboot and instal again 4.2.2 ... phone works but only as a wifi tablet... no imei no baseband.. no sim card recognition...only wifi and bluetooth work..... ther is a threat to solve it in xda [GUIDE]99% working unbrick method aslong you can get into download mode :D - xda-developers doesnt work for me ...but the most of the time works aparently...sorry about my english.. im from chile. good luck

Guys,
I've got EXACTLY the same issue. Have you also bought your phones in one country and are using on another?
Any fix yet?

my phone was working normal and fine until the ota 4.3 update then i just couldnt get any signal at all and it wouldnt detect simcards and now after flashing and flashing trying to fix it mine is now in this same shape of saying unknown on all that stuff.... i will never buy a google device again infact im thinking of leaving android

Hi all!
Same issue for me. My N4 updated itself to 4.3, after that it lost all connections - so i restarted it and it got stuck in the Bootloop only showing the X.
I read about it, reflashed it to 4.2.2 - it starts up fine by now, wont get any connections tho and showing IMEI and Baseband unknown.

So if you guys may find a solution for this lemme know, cheers!

Michael (and Isabella), if you don't mind, where (country) are you located? And, where was your phone originally purchased?

Same issue here. I bought my phone in USA and i live in Brazil. Unfortunately didn't find a solution.

This issue has been raised a few times before, never as I recall with a positive outcome. It always seems to involve a phone which was removed from its "home" country - that is, a phone which was bought in the UK for example and then taken to Pakistan or some such (I am using random country names here).

I have been having this same issue for two months with no good results (Nexus 4 8GB). I am from the USA and my phone has been in the USA the entire time I have been using it. I upgraded to 4.3 and it worked fine for two weeks, then one day it was acting funky, then got ridiculously hot, so I turned it off. When it came back on, it was stuck endlessly at the X boot screen. I had not rooted it or installed anything but Google factory images, so to fix it I tried re-flashing 4.3. Same problem, unknown IEMI, unknown Baseband. This happened back in August.

I wouldn't be still trying to fix the problem, but I don't have a spare $300 bucks to do an RMA and the last time I tried to call Google about this, they brushed it off as though that wasn't their problem and they didn't give me an option to send my phone in first and then wait for them to send me a new one. It was put a hold on money I don't have or nothing. So apparently I'm stuck with a broken phone due to ****ty customer service.

I was hoping maybe 4.4 would fix this since lots of people have had the same issues. I don't know. I'm at my wits end, paying $100 a month on a contract that won't run out for another year (on contract from before I got the N4 from Google.), and so I'm currently spending $100 a month for services I can't use because LG makes ****ty hardware. If its a hardware issue, man, I don't know. I'm beyond pissed off. This is MONTHS of being ignored by Google. I bought it in the USA. I live in the USA. They won't do **** for me. It isn't just people who have left the country.
