Who really puts there phone on full brightness? Use my iphone at about 30% im guessing the n6 will be just right for me when I get it 😍

Re: Full brightness

I use full brightness on all my devices... Its the one thing that might make me sell my n6 when i get it

Re: Full brightness

It depends on the phone, all the Iphones I've had you don't need to put it on full brightness. Older Android phones, I've had to at times.

Re: Full brightness

I put full brightness on when I'm gaming, watching a movie, or when I'm outdoors in the bright sun. Otherwise, I have it set pretty low.

I always use the auto brightness and rarely ever do I manually go in and set it to max brightness..... but to each his own right?

Re: Full brightness

I use Auto Brightness 'most' of the time. However, there are times, like when in sunlight, I have to override and go to max brightness.

Re: Full brightness

I never use full brightness. I leave my N5 somewhere around 10-20%. If the N6 screen isn't as bright that's a bit of a worry

Re: Full brightness

I agree, full brightness is rarely necessary and generally overkill. It's a bit like the minivan that does 130mph - a nice stat to hang your hat on but not something you'll want to do often.

Of course, just because I don't use max brightness much doesn't mean I don't want it set pretty high. I need it maxed trying to take pics of my son at the beach, for example. Max brightness should be a tool at your disposal, not a retina-melting face cannon. lol

Re: Full brightness

I finally got a chance to play with the Nexus 6 in the T-mobile store. The screen definitely doesn't get as bright as my Iphone 6 plus. I put my 6 plus up next to it, and at only half the brightness, it was brighter than the Nexus at almost full brightness. The Nexus 6 screen very much reminds me of the G3. It's hard to tell in a well lighted store just how bright it is.

Re: Full brightness

I don't put much stock into the max brightness of the screen. I try to equate it to the tv's you see on display at Best Buy or wherever. They catch your eye, but in reality, they distort the picture immensely. One you get your tv calibrated, you realize how much better it is than having it on full brightness. But, that's why we have options to adjust the screen. I stopped at my local T Mobile store today to check it out. Nice phone. Looks like I'll pull the trigger tomorrow.

Re: Full brightness

This issue is one that concerns me as a prospective N6 buyer.

I almost always use auto brightness on my N5 and N7 (2012). No real problems -- but I understand that the N6's amoled screen doesn't get as bright as the N5. I'm worried about not being able to see the screen outside on a sunny day.

As more people get the N6 I'll be interested to hear about how well it does in sunlight.

I've rarely had good luck with AMOLED screens in sunlight, though I've hear the Note 4 doesn't do bad. IPS displays do well in sunlight from my experience.

Re: Full brightness

I'm running it in adaptive mode set at about 50% according to the slider.

Haven't really had to go out much since I got it so I can't speak yet on sunlight visibility.

Re: Full brightness

If I'm not outside I usually keep the brightness at 25-50%, if I'm outside then having it at 100% brightness is a must in my opinion.

Re: Full brightness

image.jpgI keep my brightness at 50%. Here's a picture of the note 3 Nexus six side-by-side both at full brightness.

Re: Full brightness

I normally have my phone's brightness set as low as possible, unless I'm outside, then its up to around 60%

So what? 60% of the Nexus 6 is likely to be the same amount dimmer than 60% of a bright screen?

Re: Full brightness

I use my phone at full brightness unless I'm driving to work in the morning or home at night and it gets dark. Or unless I'm going to bed. Because turning off my alarm in the morning with full brightness enabled is like staring into the sun.

Seems I'm the only one D:
