Google Nexus 6 on AT&T

Looks like At&t is out of stock online now. the image is greyed out and it says " Out of stock online" figures, just when I get the courage to hit the pre order button on att Next ;p

Re: The AT&T Nexus 6 is SIM locked

Guys, a couple points:

The badge can be removed.

The boot animation is on an OEM partition and the rom is in fact a stock rom.

Boot Animation can be removed along with ringtones. You just need root access and a file explorer with root permissions.

Bloat apps are not preloaded but installed when turned on with carrier sim and can be uninstalled.

Updates come from Google.

I have been enjoying the device since I received it this morning.

Also to piggy back on that.. If you run the android setup with out the ATT sim card in the phone it won't even download the bloat apps. You can then put the sim card in after you finish the normal android setup/login stuff.

Does anyone know if Best Buy has it for AT&T yet? I saw on a couple sites that leaked image of 11/21. Was never sure of it, and I'm at work currently. Anyone know?

Nobody has the Nexus 6! I just called 5 stores in my area (Detroit) and all AT&T stores returned their devices due to "Major Software Issues". I'm not making this up. A software issue that can be fixed by pushing the update has ruined our chances at getting a nexus!!!! So disappointed right now

Well I just got mine. HEAD'S UP FOR USPS CUSTOMERS: Apparently USPS doesn't require signature on this package. Mine was left without authorization on the ground by my mailbox. Unfortunately mine is short lived as ATT lied to me about being able to add another Next line (at four, was told that if my credit went through to add another account it wouldn't be a problem to merge them), so mine is being sent back and eventually I'll get one from the Play store unlocked. It's a shame. Seems like a decent phone and the screen brightness seems fine to me.

Re: for people who upgraded on at&t next

Hello all
I am really looking at using my at&t upgrade and getting the nexus 6. It would be Tue 24month option for 22.77 a month. I am just wondering if anyone can GI e an estimate of how much their monthly bill skyrocked? I know each bill is different and what not, but as mine stands right now. I have the 2gb mobile share plan for $60 a month. With taxes and all my last bill was around $71 dollars.
I just don't want to be shocked if I take this route haha so what would I be looking at? Maybe 115 or less? I'm just hoping it wouldn't be any higher than that.

From Moto X

You will prolly be looking at about $100 a month. Can't imagine it being more than that...

Thank you, and I really hope that it doesn't be more than that

Edit: and It seems the Nexus 6 is back in stock on ATT.com website and they are even giving it Overnight :shipping next business day for Free. Least that is what mine says.

Are Google and/or Motorola Nexus 6's fully compatible with the AT&T network?

Based on the AT&T, Google and Motorola web sites, the Network and Bands of the Nexus 6 appears to be different:

AT&T
4G-LTE Bands 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 12, 13, 17, 20, 25, 26, 29, and 41
4G HSPA+ with enhanced backhaul
3G - UMTS 850/900/1900/2100MHz
GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900MHz

Google (North America)
GSM: 850/900/1800/1900MHz
CDMA Band Class: 0/1/10
WCDMA Bands: 1/2/4/5/8
LTE Bands: 2/3/4/5/7/12/13/17/25/26/29/41
CA DL Bands: B2-B13, B2-B17, B2-29, B4-B5, B4-B13, B4-B17, B4-B29

Motorola
Networks
GSM/GPRS/EDGE, UMTS/HSPA+, 4G LTE

Bands - Americas Model (XT1103)
GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
CDMA (800, 1900, secondary 800 MHz)
WCDMA (1, 2, 4, 5, 8)
LTE (2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 12, 13, 17, 25, 26, 29, 41)
CA DL (B2-B13, B2-B17, B2-29, B4-B5, B4-B13, B4-B17, B4-B29)

Is it significant that:
  • The AT&T 4G-LTE list includes band 20, while the other 2 LTE lists do not include this band
  • AT&T lists "4G HSPA+ with enhanced backhaul" while Motorola lists "HSPA+" without "enhanced backhaul" and Google says nothing about HSPA+
  • The AT&T 3G - UMTS list includes 2100MHz, while the other two spec lists do not include 2100MHz anywhere
  • Google doesn't include "3G" or "UMTS" while Motorola lists "UMTS" without any frequency specs

What I'm trying to understand is, if I buy a Nexus 6 from Google or Motorola for use on the AT&T network, will I miss out on some network capability or performance due to the differences in the Network/Band specifications?
If I will be missing out on something, how significant might it be?

TYIA

Re: Will AT&T version be branded?

From what I've heard, if you've gotten your Nexus 6 from AT&T, as soon as you put in your Sim card, the AT&T apps will download to the phone through the play store. They aren't buried in the partition so you'll be able to just completely uninstall them and be left with pure stock android.

Only 2 apps installed but then I uninstalled. That easy.
