Google Nexus 6 on T-Mobile

Re: N6 on tmo?

When the 12th rolls around I could pick up the phone at T-Mobile and insert my AT&T sim and not have any issues more than likely? So the only thing I would be giving up is the better return/warranty policy with the play store?

Re: N6 on tmo?

Of course, that rests partly on how well it would perform on Verizon's network using Hangouts for calls (I figure I'd port my number from T-Mobile to Google Voice), so if anyone has experience using Hangouts calling on Verizon, I'd love to hear it. The thought of unlimited, unthrottled 4G data on the phone, unlimited calling, and unlimited 4G hotspot (I also use it as my home internet connection) for a grand total of about $60/month is quite appealing :D

Jeremy, are you talking about unlimited data/hotspot on the VZW network for $60/month? Where do you get that?! LOL.. or are you already a VZW customer with the grandfathered unlimited data? Tks!

Re: N6 on tmo?

I had a nexus 4 and nexus 5 from T-Mobile I had absolutely no bloatware from T-Mobile. I also got all the updates from google just like any nexus product

Re: N6 on tmo?

Since I am paying full price I'd much rather buy from the Play Store for most of the same reasons you list... The next problem is just how long of a delay are we looking at with getting one ordered from the Play store? If it was just a couple of weeks.. Fine.... (actually I don't need this so the reasonable side of me could wait until whenever.... but I wanted it like yesterday and the inpatient side of me always overrules the logical/reasonable side.)

I purchased a used Nexus 5 from Ebay and gave it to a friend as a gift about 4 months ago that lost his phone in house fire. About two months ago he told me the LCD screen didn't light up but had no damage since it was always in a case. I sent him the phone number to LG and all they wanted was proof of purchase which I took the print out from Ebay. LG replaced the phone for free but he did have to send the broken phone to them first and it took two weeks which is too long in my opinion. Sure wish I had tried Google's service first since they changed their policy but in the end he has a good replacement Nexus 5 phone.

Re: N6 on tmo?

I am not getting the feeling it's going to be a real pain in the **** to get a Nexus 6..... While out shopping today I stopped in two local T-Mobile stores and both "Store Managers" told me they won't actually have them in stock or in the store... Both actually used the same tag line "You'd probably have better luck just ordering one from the play store." Ummmmm you guys obviously don't get out much.... I told them both the play store sold in out in a matter of seconds and has been out of stock since then.... They both said I'd probably have to wait until later on when Google replenishes stock and order it from them directly..... REALLY????

Hopefully these two wonderfully helpful store managers are just as clueless as they appeared... The one store near me just told me they should have SOME in stock but couldn't say how many SOME was going to be... These two pointed me to the Play store like that was a realistic option..

Just going to be a pain to actually get one it seems.... I hope I am wrong... and well I hope these store managers are wrong too....

Google Nexus 6 T-Mo to have White Version

I talked with a T-Mobile employee today and he said they can preorder the white or blue and they'll arrive at the same time. I saw on the screen where you could pick which color you want. Apparently they will carry the white version too.

Yes, the hotspot plan - not the feature on a voice service, which is what probably 99% of those grandfathered are on. I've had it for.... something like 7-8 years. Originally it was 3g, but eventually they offered to bump it to 4g remaining unlimited if I'd signed a new 2yr agreement, an agreement I'd have signed even if it were to guarantee just the 3g! Now, Hangouts calling finally makes it possible to get back down to just 1 wireless service.

There are people who have it that decide to sell their unlimited service (it appears Verizon doesn't have an issue with this provided certain conditions are met, and some precautions have to be made to ensure you don't invalidate your eligibility). Here is a link to an explanation I found on all the fine print and what needs to transpire.

Best bet is to check the busiest store in your market, as they'll be much more likely to have them. Given that the Nexus 6 isn't a proven seller yet (the argument regarding that could be made strongly either way based on the Play store preorder debacle), and that it has a much higher cost associated with it, it's likely that T-Mobile will only seed initial stock in its 'A' stores that do high volume.

Re: T-Mobile confirm 12th of November launch today...@AskDes

Since I'm on AT&T I'm hoping they are the 12th as well. Still trying to hold out for the play store because of their customer service. But if AT&T has any, I'll probably just get it there

Re: T-Mobile confirm 12th of November launch today...@AskDes

Im prolly gonna by it at TMO and just put my Vz sim card in it.

Let us know if that works, and if so, if you have to go through any hurdles to get it up and running. The only evidence of a device working on Verizon's SIM to date is on a Nexus 6 directly from Google (unknown as of yet if Verizon will only allow whitelisted (devices they and Play sell) on their network.

Re: T-Mobile confirm 12th of November launch today...@AskDes

I was able to get a play store order in just now. I guess if it is in store before that, I will just cancel this order.

Re: T-Mobile confirm 12th of November launch today...@AskDes

isn't it a different size sim? Are you planning on cutting your sim?

It's the same phone and the same size SIM so there's no need to cut the SIM. The only issue he might run into is activating an Tmo bought N6 on Verizon.

So I'm currently on VZW with a S3, my current sim from the S3 will fit in the N6?

GS3 took a MicroSIM, N6 takes a NanoSIM. You'll need to buy a new one or trim it down.

Re: T-Mobile confirm 12th of November launch today...@AskDes

I thought I read that it would work... I could be wrong. Ugh this is so confusing. Lol. Wasnt that video over on Droidlife of the Tmobile N6 working on verizon?

Re: T-Mobile confirm 12th of November launch today...@AskDes

I thought verizon didnt allow other carrier phones to activate on their network?

WiFi Calling on T-Mobile

I called Google Play Customer Service today and asked if T-Mobile WiFi calling would work on a Play Store bought Nexus 6. He said it probably wouldn't because T-Mobile and other carriers will be allowed to preload their carrier things on the phone but that it could be uninstalled. After we talked for a minute about how T-Mobile said WiFi calling would work after an OTA update which only Google would be able to do, he said he was unsure whether the Play Store Nexus 6 would work or not. Seems like if they're going to add it to the phone in 2015 that all the phones should have it. Has anybody heard anything about this?
