Google Nexus 6 on T-Mobile

Re: N6 on tmo?

No bloat, unlocked. Because it's a nexus. There's a lot of fear mongering happening in these threads.

Re: N6 on tmo?

From my experience, all the Nexus phones I've had on Tmo never had bloatware. Of all the carriers, Tmo would be the one I trust the most not to have it.

Yep. Especially when T-Mobile flat-out said the Nexus 6 would not have bloatware and was unlocked. Always nice to have confirmation straight from the company :D

Re: N6 on tmo?

Considering its the Nexus 6, even if it had bloatware, im pretty sure root exploits will be out after a few weeks the phone comes out

Google Nexus 6 Play store vs. Tmo.

This is a message that was sent to me from a friend that works for T-Mobile, this is for the people saying carriers will get them first...
" T-Mobile will stock both the 32GB and 64GB models of the Nexus 6. Pricing for the 32GB version is set at $649, and that model will be available to order online, and in stores from November 12. The higher capacity model has a full retail price (set by Google) of $699. Sadly, you won’t be able to pick one up in store. It’s going to be available online only."

A lot of people are saying carriers will get them first (the 12th). But I believe that you pre-order on the 12th and comes out in stores same time google ships the phones if not later.
Would be unfair to wait longer to get it from the play store.

Re: Play store vs. Tmo.

Well if tmobile said its coming on the 12th....that means its coming. Google already screwed up the preorders today. It would go further on the ridiculous if they botch carrier releases as well.

well after today, I really wouldnt be surprised if they did botch it. clearly theres a stocking problem.

Re: Play store vs. Tmo.

if they can't even get pre-orders right, I don't have a lot of faith in them actually tracking real time inventory, and shipping it out in a timely manner. Some information would have been nice instead of just ehhhh try again later

Re: Play store vs. Tmo.

I actually think Google shouldn't have done the pre-orders through Google Play. I think the pre-orders went so quickly since the supply of phones is heavily dedicated to the carriers. If that's the case, Google shouldn't have done pre-orders through Google play and just kept a supply to sell on the same date as the carriers. The pre-orders were half-assed at best and it might have been better to just not even do the pre-orders (especially with expected shipping dates not being until 9 days after the phone is on sale through the carriers)

Is there a difference between Nexus 6 GPE vs Carrier Edition

Hi,

I have a One Plus One on T-Mobile's network and I am going to upgrade to a Nexus 6. The issue is that T-Mobile only offers the 32GB model, and for $50 more, I would want the 64GB model.

If I buy the GPE edition, are there any difference between the phones? Will I lose any functionality, such as WiFi calling?

I appreciate the help.

Oze.

Is that true with all Android phones? Are there any plans to correct that?

That's correct! Since the spark upgrade, I believe all of sprints new phones after the Note 3 can no longer do voice and data at the same time. The phones used to have 2 chips inside(voice/data), now they have 1(voice OR data). I forgot that pictures won't download if your in a call (data can't pass through chip).

If wifi calling is important to you, then I would buy it from T-Mobile just to be safe.

T-Mobile will be selling the 64gb Nexus 6 online only.

No its not true with all Android phones. My Nexus 5 can be used while on the phone to search something on the web or check email for example. Same with my Galaxy S5 or Note 3. I'm currently using AT&T.

Re: N6 on tmo?

If you're on CDMA (Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular etc) don't buy the phone from T-Mobile expecting it to work. There's a very good chance only phones sold from Google or by those carriers have been whitelisted to work. Unlike GSM, CDMA can be blocked based on IMEI.

my final choice

Since I've bought my last 2 nexus from the play store this year I'll get mine from T-Mobile stores.
That is if it does come out sooner than google ships them from the play store. (Hoping for Nov. 12th!)

I also hope its exactly like the play store model, meaning updates as soon as they come out, unlocked and pure android with no carrier garbage on the phone.

Where are the rest of you guys buying?
