Google Nexus 6 Screen Issues

Re: Yikes!

And sometimes anything to pick on. (Flame Suit On)

I've had mine all week and then screen has been very active. so far I see nothing like burn in

Re: Yikes!

Man I'll have to check our demo unit tomorrow I planned on getting the nexus 6 and giving my fiance my note 4

i hate big phones thats why i got a.. (phablet)

Re: Yikes!

As much as some love to trash anything whenever possible, I find it curious that this is the first I've ever heard about AMOLED burn in.

Same here. I typically buy amoled phones because I prefer them and I've yet to have this problem. Maybe it's a bad batch like the letters falling off issue? Seems like every nexus has some sort of quality control problem.

I was reading over at XDA about the letters falling off. Surprised some were claiming it a non issue. If the apple started falling off the back of a iPhone we'd all be laughing and ripping on a cheap phone.

Re: Yikes!

have you noticed a trend for pure Google devices to have issues that are never fixed?
- Nexus 4: earpiece volume is a joke. bluetooth doesn't work properly if WiFi is enabled
- Nexus 5: battery charge issues; poor audio quality
- Nexus 7 (2012): flimsy LCD glass (cracked 3)
- Nexus 7 (2013): SoSo battery life

Why google why..

So glad I decided not to go with this. Google blew it big time. One of my concerns early on was burn in. That is why I have always stayed with lcd screens. This is really bad news for the nexus line. Glad I am getting an Lg G3. Might consider the N9 now that some hardware issues are being addressed. But boy, the news for the N6 just keeps getting worse.

Re: Yikes!

This is a risk with oled panels, and seems moto could not overcome this. It is a shame it is happening this soon, then again the moto x last year had issues with it as well.

Agree, between the botched launch and the issues that seem to pop up, I am glad I was unable to order one from the play store. Maybe next year we will get a nexus without all of these issues on all the carriers again. And hopefully a better launch as well.

All those are cheaper, so its assumed they were cost cutting measures. But charging $650+ for a phone, one would expect more high quality and no cost cutting. Then again it wouldn't be a nexus without some sort of cost cutting it seems. Oh well.

I agree lol. Been thinking of buying one and already not sure all this waiting and issues makes me more sure of not getting one

I've had a Nexus 5, two Nexus 7 's and now a Nexus 6. One of the reasons I keep buying them is the high quality I've experienced.

The N5 easily lasts all day. Of course I never expected much audio quality with only one mono speaker on the bottom aimed straight down. But it's loud. My wife loves it.

Both N7's (2012 and 2013) can easily go more than a day with no problem. I've never put a case on either one and they get fairly rough treatment as Kindle readers. We've never had the misfortune of a cracked or broken screen.

So far my N6 has been superb.

I suppose you could call me a Nexus fan and I keep buying them.

As always, Your Mileage May Vary.

Re: Yikes!

i would say touch screen and rebooting issues for the n7 2013. nothing wrong with the battery life. that was the n5

thanks for posting but i thought i had decent eyes/vision and i can't see any burn-in on her video!

Blah blah blah, just buy a device YOU like and enjoy it. If you are really anal about any little "issue" stay off message boards or you will never buy a device.

Load up google.com, turn your device into landscape and pull down the notification panel. See the nav bar line and the triangle/square?

I don't.

Should amend that. If you keep your brightness above 50% routinely. I would guess those who do will see it more. Might explain why they kept the panel dim.

this issue probably wouldn't affect me. i like to keep my display brightness down very low - like at 10%. my eyes just prefer it that way and the bonus is better battery life.

So burn in is a little issue? I guess for some, for me its a deal breaker. I mean, the screen is everything with a phone or tablet.
