Google Nexus 6 Screen Issues

Re: Yikes!

We knew there was a cost cutting measure somewhere, everyone thought it would be the camera as usual. Guess we found it in the older panel.

Re: Yikes!

even more glad that I'm returning it.

Re: Yikes!

We already knew it wasn't the newest panel...samsung reserves them for their own phones.

Not worried about it. I have the nexus 6, and I used it has a bed side clock for the last week, as I am been traveling. No burn in, no burn in any situation.

If it burns it, MOTO will replace it.

The note 4 forums had a few similar complaints....its the risk this type of screen.

Re: Yikes!

When I went to the T-Mobile store to look at the nexus 6 demo they had a Note 4 demo and when I turned the demo off and opened a web browser the T-Mobile logo was burned faintly into the back ground... I think it's more of an AMOLED issue with leaving something on too long..

Re: Yikes!

Exactly....the above mentioned post exemplifies that as well.

Same thing goes with a plasma screen. You just got to be smart.

The difference is store models that are on all the time vs. hers which was barely on and a review unit. Very different SOT's.

You are assuming... the poster has 3 total post on XDA not saying burn in isn't possible but I've had mine a week and a half with a lot of usage without burn in issues...

Almost everything posted on a forum has to be taken with a grain of salt...

Yeah but it was confirmed by the reviewer as well.

Okay! Whatever you want to worry about... time will tell if this is a major issue or not! As several people mention go to the Samsung forums and it is a complaint on the Note and Galaxy S series as well....

It was an observation by some on a 2 week old phone, I would think its pertinent for some to be aware.

I've had my N6 for a solid week now, and being disabled, my phone is on all the time. One of the things I love about this phone is how bright it is. So bright that my brightness level is turned all the way down and it's still bright enough for me. My phone is on most of the day and I haven't seen any sign of burn in.

See, this is where you and I differ greatly. I have the same phone you do and actually like it quite a bit. If there's a legitimate issue with it, however, I'm not going to ignore it. You get extremely defensive about this device every time someone says something negative about it. I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this; you don't own the best phone available. There are issues with it.

Now to the burn in thing, that doesn't surprise me in the slightest. From the jump I've been saying this panel was a cost-cutting measure and this is the type of thing that can happen. Now is everyone going to see this? No. Most of us will be just fine, but the fact that some of these devices already are suffering from this is pretty awful. Guess we'll have to see what happens going forward.

They charge premium smartphone money for a device that ships with a sub par display (arguably the most important part of the phone). I'm fine with it because I never keep a device for very long anyways, but for those that purchased this for $650+ and plan on getting a year or two out of it, it's alarming.

Re: Yikes!

As much as some love to trash anything whenever possible, I find it curious that this is the first I've ever heard about AMOLED burn in.
