Re: Shipping updates thread

I received an email from UPS that I have a package coming in on Thursday. I don't remember ordering anything else, can this be my Nexus? Coming from Miami and package weight is 2 lbs. I thought Google shipped from Kentucky?

You should be able to log in and see who it's coming from.

Re: Shipping updates thread

It just says
"From:
SHIPPING3
MIAMI, FL, US "

Normally I wouldn't hesitate to say that it isn't from Google, but it's possible in the current scenario that they are having Motorola directly fulfill these to customers, meaning they might not be coming from Google's warehouse and could indeed be coming through FL.

Much like Google, if Motorola's central warehouse does not yet have their stock (and their indicated delivery times were further out than Google's), they too might be shipping from the factory, etc.

I wouldn't rule it out at this point, especially given that the package weight seems appropriate and Kamek89 indicated not expecting anything else that might be shipped in.

Re: Shipping updates thread

Google's Play store orders usually do ship from Louisville, KY...... I don't know what would be shipping through Miami though?

I got my preorder in with Motorola.. They originally told me my order was to ship from their main warehouse in Fort Worth, Texas.. but revised it to say the Nexus 6 was going to actually ship directly from the factory in China.... Which would still make shipping from Miami Florida kind of weird...... China to Miami is a long long way....... and anything coming from China to the US via UPS would go through Louisville, KY and FedEx would go through Memphis, TN not Miami... Neither has anything of significance in Miami hub wise..... but I don't know if Motorola or Google has some sort of warehouse in Miami.. wouldn't make much sense.. Part of the reason Google orders ship UPS from Louisville is because that is where UPS is based out of... a lot of people have distribution centers in Louisville (or Memphis) because of the hubs of UPS (and FedEx)

The other fun issues is Motorola told me my order was originally going FedEx ground from Texas and now is telling me FedEx 2 day from China.... FedEx does not offer a 2 day international shipping.. They have first overnight, international priority and international economy....

Motorola reps were telling me the reason they originally were saying my order was going to ship from Texas was a mistake and people were going off where the Moto X shipped from which is Fort Worth... they are saying the Nexus 6 will ship from China directly... I don't know if this is because they got way behind on getting orders from China to the main warehouse in Texas or since Levono was planning to close the Fort Worth factory they just started shipping directly..... From reading that Motorola failed to deliver the scheduled shipments to T-Mobile as planned I'd guess they are drop shipping directly from the factory instead of bringing them in to the US and distribute them from there..... Assumption on my part though.....

Re: Google Nexus 6Shipping updates thread

I talk to motorola and they told me last Wednesday they just got a shipment in and we should be it a lot sooner the the 19th. How would they get a shipment into China

Why would it be in Miami though. Even if it's not coming from Texas, there's no reason for it to go through FL.

Yeah they told me that last week when I placed my preorder... that they were getting inventory in... so they dinged my card and the charge became an offical "IOU" with my credit card company on Monday so I asked them again and they told me they were shipping directly from the factory in China..

Kind of matches up perfectly with the word going around that they failed to get inventory out in time for T-Mobile's failed launch today.... I would have much rather they shipped from Texas because... Well I live in Texas so if they shipped on 11/12 or 11/13 as they told me they would I should easily get it the next day.... From China???? who knows how long it will take to get here....

LA or San Fran California would have made way more sense on inventory coming in from China for distribution throughout the US... Not Miami... Maybe if they were made and assembled in Brazil or Europe....

Re: How many got to order and which day?

Just got on an order through today (11/12) at 1:04pm ET, scheduled to leave warehouse in 2 weeks. I don't think it was part of their 'Wednesday release' but rather a one-off availability from someone maybe cancelling an existing order.

I'd prefer the 64GB but would honestly be able to manage with the 32GB just fine. If I can successfully put through an order for the 64GB before the 32GB ships, I'll just cancel the first order.

If I do get an order in and will be cancelling the 32gb, I'll post here to advise as to the time I'll process the cancellation -- I suspect that these points when a device randomly pops up as available are those when people cancel an order, and I'd rather see a newly available unit go to a fellow forum-dweller :)

I tried the same, to get a midnight 64gb today off PS/Moto, and then cancel my PS 32gb. But to no avail, I never could get back the 'Add to cart' button without it disappearing and Moto saying 'Out of Stock' for 64gb. Uggg...

Re: Google Nexus 6Shipping updates thread

Just wondering which carrier AT&T do for shipping? USPS or FEDEX?

Re: Google Nexus 6Shipping updates thread

Ordered from Play Store last week, and I saw the preauth come in later that day as GOOGLE *Devices. Tonight I see what looks like a charge from GOOGLE *Google Storage for the exact amount, maybe getting close to shipping or else they are putting a 2nd hold for some odd reason.

EDIT: To be clear, the GOOGLE *Google Storage charge showed up tonight with today's date.
