Google Nexus 6P Car Mount/Dock

Hi All,

Loving my 6P so far!

Unfortunately the phone is a little too big to fit in the old car dock/Mount that I used for my 2014 Moto X. Any recommendations for one that will fit the 6P?

This cheap one from ebay is working surprisingly well. The clamp is not so big which prevents it from clamping down on the side buttons. Works great!

This is the one I use. Just fits with a case on it. Stays in place and have been using it for a year. Never taken it off nor has it fallen off. Bottom pieces moves up/down/left/right to adjust for other phones and allows different hookups. Push the phone onto the button on the back and the sides closes to hold the phone.

I bought a ProClip. While a bit more expensive, I've found it is worth it because of how solidly it mounts to the car. You have to buy two pieces, a holder for the phone and a mount for the car -- and the car mounts are specific for your brand and model of car. For the 6P, I bought a universal holder for large phones, which is good for the 6P in or out of a thin case; though the iPhone 6 Plus holders will also work. Depending on the car, you will have a few options as to where the mount is installed.

I use a magnetic mount. I use a case and insert the metal plate needed for this to work.

Actually that's a good question. I haven't had an issue with that at all but you can lower the bottom piece to allot it to not go near it. I'll check tomorrow morning.

I've been using ProClip for years and love them. I will be picking up the same Universal Large you are referring too on Thursday... I'm not too far from their Madison HQ, so I'm going to stop by and purchase it.

I use a RAM x-mount. Its really easy to transfer the mount from my truck to my motorcycle and it holds the phone really securely. I'm using the same one I was using on my original Moto X for my Nexus 6p. It's kind of big and clunky and not very pretty, but it works great and works on any phone or anything that will fit no matter what shape it is.

No matter how I position the bottom piece, the side does hit the volume button and I haven't seen it change from putting it into the holder. Right now, at the highest position for the bottom piece, it hits the volume down. At the lowest position, it hits the power button. But I haven't seen any issues with it. If there is an issue then I can keep it at the highest position then make a cut out for it

I bought the Akron Through Amazon. No side arms to interfere with the power or volume buttons.
