Google Nexus Tweet

From the rules and agreements..

PRIZES: Seven winning entries will receive a Galaxy Nexus phone as described at Galaxy Nexus. (ARV of each individual prize: $500.00 USD). Prize may be subject to terms, restrictions and conditions imposed by Google. The Prize does not include activation or usage fees required to activate and operate the device. All such fees are the responsibility of the winner.

The UK release date is November 17. Eligibility for the contest includes the UK. The contest ends on the 21st. So the contest continues past the release date at least in the UK, so it could be the same for the U.S. No correlation necessarily.

This makes Verizon look silly since the US is involved in the contest with no release date. IMO

You have to laugh at the ridiculousness of it all. There's a contest to win a phone that doesn't have a release date yet. An LTE version, meaning it would have to be past the testing phase and is ready to be used by consumers. So if the phone is a go, one has to question what is going on over at Verizon.

My guess is that they intentionally delayed announcing anything for this phone until after the Droid Razr has a few days of sales. I can't see any other reason for it. Now that people have blindly bought the Razr and made their corny marketing a "success", now they can move on to selling the big-boy phone.

First of all this is a Google contest and has nothing to do with Verizon.

Second there is no way I am doing this to get a phone...

The Galaxy Nexus Challenge (the “Contest”) is a skill contest where participants must submit
via Twitter solutions to puzzles, photo challenges and essay questions (“Solutions”) to win
prizes.

It has everything to do with Verizon when the contest is giving away a version of their phone that they've barely mentioned and still don't have a release date for. It has everything to do with them failing.

Did anyone read all 50 pages of the contest rules? I opened the PDF and automatically closed it once I noticed it was 50 pages. What are the odds of anyone in this forum winning? The contest is practically opened to the entire planet and they are only give a few phones. Eff-that!! :-!

It's really only like 5ish pages, the rest are translations to various languages.

But yeah, I have little hope either :( I'm a pretty middle of the road puzzle-solver. Plus I've never used twitter.

I thought I was the last person on the planet to not have a twitter account.

omg.. people are even complaining because some good news rolls around and google is doing a free contest.. that costs us nothing.

I come here for Nexus news.. but its almost unbareable to read post after post after post of whining and people crying like utter babies because there is no release date.

the entire reason why I check this site 10-20 times a day is because im impatiently waiting for a release date.. but you people who feel the need to whine about it 24/7 are SO ANNOYING.

google announced a phone, and it doesnt have a release date.. guess what the world goes on. I just hope at the very least in like a week when we all own this phone most of you dont just try and forget about the utter whinefest you threw down on these forums as if you were all 5 year olds mad at daddy because you cant have an early christmas present.

lol! I just know my limits with social networking - facebook is bad enough, throw in Google+ and I haven't got time to get twitfaced or whatever you call it.

Though it is tempting to at least set up an account to try the contest... Even the tiniest chance at a free $500+ device is a chance I should take.

They have to stop this and release this phone

Unbelievable month , and maybe more, of waiting with no clue about when its gonna be released

That and the fact that I seem to have no luck with contests, the only times I win anything are on scratch off lottery tickets lol.

Puzzle question – from November 12, 2011 to November 21, 2011, the potential winner
will be contacted within one week from when their Solution is submitted.
Short essay questions and photo challenges – the potential winners will be contacted by
two weeks after the end of the Contest Period, by December 5, 2011
.

I copied this from the rules. It says that potential winners of the essay questions will be contacted by December 5. Does this contest have anything to do with the Verizon release date? Does it mean no phone release until December 5 or later? I'm probably reading too much into this.
