Google Nexus with Jelly Bean - Notifications - horrible?

I want to have different notifications for various things on my Google Nexus (Jelly Bean OS). In the middle of the night, I want to get notifcation of a text, but NOT any other notification. I cannot do that - but Blackberry's can. What's up?? I cannot, for the life of me figure out why you make notifications so limited? I LOVE the phone otherwise. LOVING Android! (Except for the absurd notification issue).

I've had this issue since new (was ICS, now JEllyBean)

Am I missing something?

pretty sure Tasker can do this for you. its a sweet app but its pretty expensive. i am sure there are others out there that can do it as well though.

Check out the Light Flow app. Sleep options are built into my rom so only use LF for led/sound/vibrate options, but I'm sure it'll work as well as the rest of the app.
