Google now broken?

geez, now the audio keeps stopping on Pandora with the screen asleep...but not right away..just randomly. I remember having this issue months ago, but not recently. hope this doesn't mean a reset is in order. grrr.

Pandora is working on a whole new redesigned interface and with holo design. It should be out in the coming weeks. Of course iOS got their version of the update first..

Anyways, I would try a Pandora reinstall first.

I was wrong. It works OK with the Chrome Google search but not when using the search on the main screen.

I'd probably suggest it's a server-side issue. Deleting the cache and doing a force stop seemed to work but stopped again about an hour later - repeating it did nothing. Just got my first Android device this week so not really a great first impression.

Clearing data, force stop got search working again. However, if I go through the Now setup steps, it lags again. I'm sure it'll get fixed soon. Who should we email for this bug?

yep, definitely Google Now - just tried and it's going through the setup process that causes the hang issue. I reported it from within Android - no idea being a new user whether such reports are actually looked at.

I just had the Google Play support team call me (hilarious that they actually make a phone call for this kind of support). The guy told me that support for all Nexus 7 issues is with the N7 hardware team, even though this has nothing to do with hardware. Odd... Anyway, he told me he'd pass the bug report along to the proper place. Maybe it'll get sorted. The guy on the phone said the N7 hardware team knew nothing of this bug. Which makes sense to me, since they are hardware, but whatever.

The search function just keeps spinning / loading. New 32 GB Nexus 7, and I installed the update. Annoying.

S3 upgraded to jellybean works fine... nexus 7 is broken... come on, Goog! I think it was the last update...things have gotten funky since then...

I just spoke to a Google representative at tech support in the Google play store and they indicated Google is aware of this and other problems associated with the latest nexus7 update. He said they are hard at work to correct this problem and will be issuing an OTA update soon.

I am sorry to be beginner, but my wife is having the same problem and she is having withdrawals from surfing. I am not a wiz with computers so please talk down to me. Where do I find the cache, data, force stop. I assume the re-boot is the "power off"

Thanks for any help!

Open the application draw > swipe to settings (tap settings icon) > scroll down to apps (tap apps) > scroll down until you see Google Search (tap on Google Search), you should see options for Force Stop, Unistall updates, Clear data and Clear cache. Yep re-boot is power the tablet off and back on.

HTH

I noticed the problem late last night. It continued through today. Tonight, there was a Google Search update. I had to install this manually for some reason. After I did the update, everything began to work fine. Go to play store and see if you have an update waiting for you.
