Google PDF viewer fails to open PDF files when document is moved from internal storage to SD card.

Whenever I download a PDF file to my Android (8.1) internal storage and open it with Google PDF viewer (default from Google Drive and is NOT installed as a standalone app), it works fine but when I move the same file to my SD card (portable), the viewer fails to open the document saying "invalid format." I thought maybe there's some permission issues, but other PDF documents already present in the SD card do not have this problem and the viewer can open them just fine. Not sure how to access permissions for Google PDF viewer to check since it doesn't even appear on the installed apps list. I tried other apps like WPS which can open the same document just fine irrespective of its location in internal or external storage. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Android Central! Which file manager are you using to move the file? Can you also try a different SD card, in case there's an issue with the current card?
