Is there any reason why Google photos is backing up my Screenshot folder? I haven't got this option checked , yet it appears to be backing it up regardless. Look into it further, it appears it's seeing Screenshots folder as a Camera folder? Thanks.Screenshot_20181007-151434_Gallery.jpegScreenshot_20181007-151502_Photos.jpegScreenshot_20181007-151536_Photos.jpeg

Go to photos.google.com on your computer browser. Do you see the screenshots there? If not, then they're not being backed up. You're just seeing them on both gallery apps, which is normal.

The 2nd Camera folder and the Screenshot folder in that screenshot have an SD symbol, signifying that those particular folders are on the SD card. Scroll down further -- is there another Screenshots folder that doesn't have that SD symbol? If so, does it have the cloud icon with the line through it or not?

Yes, I moved the screenshots folder from it's default location internal storage using file manager to the SD card hence why it's showing like that now, sorry for the confusion. But before the screenshot folder was called Camera. I'll take a screen shot now to show you. My device stores screenshots on the internal storage by default and it cannot be changed.

To summarize, the actual camera photos are set to store on the SD card and are automatically backed up by Google photos without the need to select additional folders in Google photos.

However the screenshots that are saved to internal storage ( cannot change this ) are categorized as "camera" and are also automatically backed up by Google photos.Screenshot_20181007-225845_Photos.jpeg

Hmm, that's odd. I wonder if it's a bug that happens when you physically move the /Pictures/Screenshots directory to the SD card. What happens if you move it back? Or just re-create the /Pictures/Screenshots directory on Internal Storage?

I even logged onto to the PC and deleted all my screenshot images. Guess what? Google photos re synched them again to view from my phone. SMH.

Have you tried enabling the folder to be backed up, then disabling it again and deleting the folder from the cloud servers?
The folder "screenshot" doesn't exist in Google photos settings for me to enable or disable. Cheers . Infact no folders are checked to backup , just the default "camera" which is on and cannot be enabled or disabled.

I think this issue is exasperated by the way Samsung saves screenshots on the device.

Sorry if I'm confusing the issue here, but the normal state of affairs is for the phone to save photos taken by the camera to the Camera folder, and for screenshots to go to the Screenshots folder. After you moved the Screenshots folder to the SD card, I wonder if that confused the phone and is causing it to save screenshots now to the Camera folder. So if you want it to stop saving screenshots to the Camera folder, try re-creating the /Pictures/Screenshots directory on Internal Storage (which is the pathname for the Screenshots folder as it originally resided on Internal Storage).

It did this even before I moved the screenshot folder to the SD card. I think I confused the situation by doing this. Sorry.
