Google photos bug...

Just recently I noticed that in settings under back up and sync it says status updating and when I click on it, it goes from on to off and when I turn it back on it turns off. My photos are uploading but this is very annoying and I hope the photos aren't going against my Google Drive storage. Anyone else having this problem?

I have the same problem. Every time i turn on syncing, go out of settings, then going back into settings I'll have to turn it on again. It seems to be draining my battery as well, uninstalled it for now.

You need to go to settings - accounts - and click on Google.. Select your Google account and there you'll see a list of things that sync with your Google account. You can uncheck the photo backup there.
