The storage policy changed on June 1, 2021.

I've had a 100 GB Google Drive plan for a few years.

Questions:

1) Do all photos backed up from my phone, to Google drive, now count towards storage space, even if backed up in "Storage Saver" mode?

2) How can I determine how much of my Google Drive space is taken by Photos, and how much by other stuff?

Also, which photos are counting towards storage space exactly? Is there a way to isolate which ones used storage space, and which ones didn't count towards storage space?

Since it says photos backed up in high quality prior to June 1, 2021, didn't count towards storage.

I can't simply look at the photo date and know whether it was backed up prior to June 01, 2021, or not. Because sometimes I back up photos where the event took place prior to June 01, 2021, but I received them afterwards.

For example, yesterday I received some photos from 2019, and backed them up to Google Photos.

Photos that were backed up and didn't count toward your storage under the old policy will remain that way. It depends on when the photo was backed up, now when the photo was taken.

"Storage Saver" is just a new name for what used to be called "High Quality." They will still count against your total Google Drive space.

In the Google Drive app, if you tap Menu button at the upper left and then Storage, you can see the breakdown of what's using up your total space.

Thanks. So there's no way to tell when a photo was backed up? (Whether it was before or after the cut-off)?

For example, the photos I backed up a few weeks ago from 2019, appear in 2019 in my timeline. But I know I just recently backed them up, because I didn't have them before.
