Google Photos ??

So I have a question concerning google photos. While I love the free backup while using the Pixel XL, I have recently found myself in situations where I didn't have cell service or wifi and couldn't access my pics to show someone.

Probably a stupid question, but is there a way around this?

You can download your pictures to your phone for offline access, but that will use up your memory. The backups that are cloud-only can only be accessed if you have a working network connection.
