Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL Pre Order / Shipping Discussion

Possibly because the screen issues are really just a bit overblown?

Burn in, extreme blue tint at a slight angle, graininess, flashing screen, washed out colors, faded wallpaper at the bottom all have been reported here.

As another poster mentioned here, I may just keep returning for replacement under warranty replacement every few months until they fix things. If by next year they still are having the same issues, Samsung Galaxy S8 spaceship phone here I come!
 
Funny the Panda people are more concerned about the color of the back of their phone rather then the actual screen.

If there was a good reason to worry about the screen, I would be. I'm already using the sRGB setting on my Nexus 6p, since I don't like phony oversaturated colors. The blue shift seen in most video reviews and the units I saw in a store was totally acceptable to me, and if there is graininess, or unreasonable burn in during the warranty period I'll exchange it.

None of those are close to deal breakers for me, especially since there's no way I'll ever get another phone with heavy-handed OEM skins and slow updates (e.g. Note 8). What IS important to me is that I like the color of Pixel I get, since I don't use a case and plan to be living with it for a while.
 
After contacting Google via phone last night, I just got an email stating I should have my phone tomorrow (tracking included). So yes calling google helps...a lot!

What did they tell you when you called? I have two “cases” open whatever that means. All I get is jay they’re “looking into it” and to wait “24-48 hours”
 
Well, this is disappointing since I ordered my same model on 10/5 and it still has not shipped yet.

Possibly being fulfilled from different distribution centres. I had ordered on 10/4 at 2 pm and mine should hopefully arrive tomorrow.

Contacted support about this.
Support guy said they will contact the warehouse bc they havent shipped my unit and will refund my expedited payment.

OnTrac says they delivered my phone. But no phone was delivered. I think the driver stole it.
I worked from home today because I was expecting my 2XL. My desk faces my front side walk. I can see anyone who comes to the front door through my front window.

I got an delivered email from Google but no package. After talking with OnTrac customer support...they are trying to contact the driver to find out what happened. But they said the GPS data on the truck shows it was at my house.
But no package. I checked my neighbors on both sides of me and nothing.

Google is sending out another Black 2XL 64.....

So disappointed in Google for using OnTrac.....I think the driver stole the phone. No other explanation is possible.

For non-panda yes. For Panda phones they just shrug :(.

I'm expecting my phone from OnTrac today as well and I am preparing for the worst...I do hope they deliver...
 
You have a valid right to ask Google. I'd be asking questions too. I'm mainly talking about those saying it's supposed to ship 10/25 and it hasn't yet and then they call google and complain that bob from the forums ordered a day later and his shipped.

But yes, I'm concerned about the Panda too. The month long delays on the white pixel 2 have me wondering if they'll bump all us back even more than we were already bumped back. Mine doesn't ship til 11/6. :(

Do you even know that their have been a few incidents where people who used Synchrony to purchase the phone have had issues that prevented their orders from shipping and received no communication from Google or Synchrony??? Well, I considered that I might be one of the few so I contacted Google -- but I shouldnt be annoyed that "Bob's" phone shipped... please man.

I receive ontrac every few weeks from amazon. They always say they deliver and then don't. they always deliver it the next day. they want it to be logged as being delivered today but they couldn't manage to deliver it.
 
I'm not angry about it as long as I get my phone by Friday as I expected when originally ordering, but yea, it is bull**** that someone who ordered the same model phone online through the Google store weeks after I did get the product first.

That's just ****ty business.

I get that people who go to pick it up in store or who order through Verizon or Best Buy will get it first, but for someone who ordered it direct from Google? Yea, that's bull****.

And no, don't tell me that there are lots of moving parts at play here re: wearhouses and shipping and what not. I get that when we're talking about someone who ordered on the 4th vs the 5th or 6th... not when we're talking about ordering on the 4th vs ordering on the 17th.

Happened earlier in this thread, Ontrac finally came back and actually delivered his phone.
They are known to mark as delivered, and actually deliver the next day.
 
Well due to Google Support not being able to tell me anything in regards to my 128 GB Panda 2 XL (no charge to finance account, no shipping, no information, etc.) I decided to order a 128 GB Black 2 XL from Verizon. It should be here tomorrow I believe.

If the Panda comes within 14 days I can just return the Verizon one. Sigh. Such a pain that it even came down to this but I would rather have some phone versus sitting in limbo wondering if it will ever move.

My Panda was supposed to ship yesterday. Still no movement. No email, I can still edit the order, and no CC charge or hold......

I asked CS, of course they have no info. Their script is to say that as long as the order hasn't changed that delivery should be by the stated date of tomorrow or Thursday. I'm thinkin' good luck with that one........

Anyone thinking what I'm thinking (even hoping)? That they are delaying shipments due to the QC issues?
That would be good news/bad news. Not sure how I feel about it.

Exactly my Panda doesn't ship until Nov 27th so I have time to decide if I want to cancel or not. I am really hoping Google is double checking the phones. Can't imagine getting a phone almost in December and all of this burn ins,blue tints,hissing ticking would still be a issue.
