Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL Pre Order / Shipping Discussion

What I don't understand is if you go to buy the phone again right now it shows a ship date in early November. Where does that date information come from if orders placed weeks before probably won't even ship by that date.

Exactly. This is what's the most frustrating part of the entire process.
 
Just a suggestion - DO NOT try to apply any kind of logic to the order/shipping process - there is none.
Was the same thing last year.
 
They acknowledge a delay on some products but don't say which ones on support page but nothing on the phone purchase page.......
 
How are you guys contacting Google? I don't see any way to chat or call them on any of the Google Stores pages.
 
At least Google acknowledges the delay they are having with shipping.
If they came out and said "hey sorry, we're having issues keeping stock"?

I'd be okay with that.

It's the constant making **** up, incompetency, and people who ordered weeks after I did getting phones first that makes it a **** poor job on their part.

I've been told three separate times that the phone has shipped only to discover that, no, it didn't. I've had two different people from shipping tell me that it didn't ship because "my name wasn't on the shipping address, but we fixed that now" only to get zero movement.

It seems that as long as everything goes smoothly for an order than you'll get it without issue, but if even the slightest of problems pops up they're at a complete loss as to how to fix it.

The only product that is delayed is the phone. What other product do you know is delayed?

Shipped finally! Looks like I’ll be getting it a full week sooner, sweet. I’ve not had the problems with on-trac others have mentioned so hoping for the best. Thurs/Fri delivery.
 
Just chatted with them. Not much help really with regards to shipping but he (or she) seemed to try to help. He said, in reference my mentioning the blue screen issue, that I could return or exchange it for free (including return shipping) any time in the warranty period. I saved the chat transcript just in case.
 
Mine shipped today!! Verizon ordered penguin 64gb. Ordered on the 10th. Overnight delivery!! Tomorrow baby!!
 
Same here. Might cancel and go with the HTC U11 Plus when it comes out. That translucent model with visible wireless charging looks awesome.
 
Yeah, they truly have a messed up ordering system. I had cancelled my preorder last week because I was having second thoughts. Decided to reorder about 4AM this morning (128gb Black XL). By 11AM, I had received the email saying the phone had shipped with a FedEx tracking number and delivery scheduled for Thursday.
