Google Pixel 2 Camera Shots! Show Us Your Pictures

Personally to my eyes I'm partial to the V30 with the ported Google cam app

Night time front facing camera... What the heck man.

Unflattering pics of my dog (14 yo)... I hope she doesn't get upset with me for sharing.
I do not believe the camera flashed (?). Her eyes aren't reflecting a flash...

Just got my Pixel 2 on hand... First shot of the phone, very low-light with only my laptop monitor and TV in the background as light sources on a moving subject (my daughter). Impressed me right away. :D

Yeah... that scenario has been the bane of my existence for a bit now. My wife takes a bunch of pics of the kids in not-so-ideal lighting and every phone that doesn't carry with it a Google seal... well, they are usually absolute trash. She is currently using my trusty old Nexus 6P because it can get the job done where a list of other phones fell on their faces... G4, S7, S7 Edge, G6, V30... every single one couldn't handle it because of HOW they attempt to take the pic.

The problem with those cameras is that in lower light situations, they lean on longer exposures to get enough light. Now, this is fine if you are taking a picture of a building.. but if you have a 7 year old that has a motor that runs at full throttle 24/7, yeah, longer exposures ain't going to cut it.

HDR+? Well, it goes about things differently. Rather than take longer exposures, it takes MORE (shorter) exposures. Then it goes in and snags the best picture in the set (presumably the one with the least amount of blurring) and builds the final image off that one using data from to others to clean things up. Brilliant system.

I always default to metal for those who don't follow, it's easier as I'm sure you know lol.

Trust me - some of my current mainstays are

Slaughter to Prevail
Oceano
Carnifex
Cattle Decapitation
Black Tongue
Infant Annihilator... To name a few

That's pretty spectacular. Impressive..
Thanks! I'm having fun with this camera. It's not perfect - it'll leave random unblurred patches occasionally (one was cropped out of the top, right corner of the above picture). But it has tremendous potential. I'm hoping that the system really does have some sort of "learning" built into it and that it's not just marketing speak. A little work on the algorithms and this is the beginning of some serious next generation image making.

I agree. That's been my experience as well. Great stuff.

My only gripe is that, pics (especially backlit objects) seem pretty dark when taking them - but that could be not ha ING my screen brightness cranked up.

Love it for sure!

Halloween ghost. I'm impressed with what the Pixel 2 XL camera did with a night shot. In my front yard, fan inflated and about 10 feet tall.
