Google Pixel/Pixel XL Review Discussions

LOL @ The Verge. Of course they liked the most iPhone-like Android phone. SMH. I think the Pixel will be worth all this praise in its next iteration.

Feel like the verge can't win with some people. They post a good review they get bashed, bad review they get bashed. I tend to judge more ion who's reviewing and I like some over there (like dieter)

I really don't think the verge is bias on iPhone. If you listen to their old verge mobile podcast (I really hope they bring that back) deiter was part of that. The 3 hosts always praise android and like the Android OS more than ios.

Samsung couldn't have screwed up the Note 7 at a better time. This phone is looking great! I'm particularly impressed by the camera.

I would love to hang on to the V10, only if it doesn't acting up with bootloop issue like the G4. Maybe, Pixel is my next....

What's up with the Gizmodo review?

I don't know either, but not unexpected IMO. Gizmodo has always been very much like the non-conformist kid that always has to do the opposite of what's popular. They have some interesting articles, and do some good reporting sometimes, but in the end all they seem to care about is snark, being funny, and being different IMO ...

More and more, some of their articles seem like click-bait, more than anything ..

But he erroneously refers to the back plate as plastic twice! I can understand a negative review, but this one was simply poorly written and poorly executed.

I'm still on the fence a bit, I won't be buying for 6 months at least when I can upgrade at a discount on VZW. I don't know if these reviews are enough for me to plunk down the kind of money this is costing. By that time, I hope to look on here and see the user experiences to see if this is truly a flagship phone as Google hopes it to be or if the next version is the one to wait for (or just go with something else entirely)...

so, past note 7, ang pixel became the best android phone ever...

LOL I know right. I think the pixel is the ugliest phone ever but looks like Google did a good job with the optimization and camera. I wouldn't buy it but if it's fast like nexus series then it's good with me. The 5x was my last phone and that little cheap phone used to fly compared to touch wiz.

I believe the reviews stock Android runs well combined with a great camera and good screen I think it's worth the asking price.

Really? The 5X loaner I am using now works fine but there are times where it hangs or hesitates for sure.

Must say the reviews have been very positive the last few days. Wether it was the camera, aesthetics or OS, it's just been a breath of fresh air seeing such positivity for Google first true phone. Even Walt Mossberg gave it credit and we all know he love Apple. I was planning on skipping this year phone but since Google I/o I changed my mind and decided to purchase my Pixel. I wanted to experience NB Google first official phone and I can truly say I think I'm going to enjoy the next 8 years.

I personally don't think the phone is ugly. Everyone taste is different. Some say the 6p is ugly and others say it's the best looking Android phone.

The looks don't bother me either. As long as the phone is comfortable to hold and performs well that's all I care about.
