Google Pixel Stand (2nd generation)

What wireless charger, other than the Google one, charges the 6pro at 23w?
And is half the price?

Xiaomi has a 55w wireless charger for less than half the price of the Google Pixel Stand 2. Costs $50 AUD whereas the Pixel Stand 2 is $120.

Until I see a compelling enough reason to spend $80 on a $30 overpriced Pixel Stand I will stick to using my first gen stand to charge my P6Pro.

Same here. I charge overnight so fast charging is unnecessary for me. An extra $80 for a fan is insane.

Yeah it's definitely overpriced. Wireless charging does have its convenience, but the Pixel Stand 2 is very expensive for what it offers.

If you don't think you need one, don't bother. The features the phones has while on the stand imo are useless too. I just have the screen off while charging on the stand.

Golly gee willikers Mr. Wizard! I never knew the cable can be unplugged at either end!!!
I found a solution to my constant plugging and unplugging the charging stand. A while back I bought a Wiz wireless lightbulb for our living room. It's very nifty not requiring anything but wifi/Bluetooth connection and the Wiz app, works with Google Assistant. A couple of days ago I decided I wanted to get a couple of those bulbs for my home office. While in the hardware store I noticed Wiz has a wireless electrical plug, plug it in the power strip, plug the charger stand into it and now I can just turn it on and off using the app or Google Assistant.

Has anyone had any issues with your pixel stand not doing what it's supposed to do? When I first connected it, I had to set it up in the mini pixel stand app. Now it refuses to do the photo gallery, I set it up to do. At least it still charges the phone. Even after clearing the cache, and storage. Nothing fixes the issue. I don't understand how a Google accessory didn't work with a Google phone. ????????????

Yes, lots of frustration with this accessory. See here: https://forums.androidcentral.com/g...el-stand-2-realign-phone-faster-charging.html

I haven't had issues with the photo gallery. Other than clearing cache and desyncing/resyncing the device to the phone, I don't know how else to fix it.

And Google accessories have had plenty of problems in the past. The Pixel Buds 2 were notorious for connection issues where they'd constantly cut out/disconnect and the Pixel Buds A seemed to have the same issues.

Google starting to get a reputation with the mobiles/accessories as 'it just doesn't work'.

I've had a Pixel Stand 2nd Gen since it was released. I set it up to only charge as I wasn't interested in having it do anything else. I've not had any problems using it as only a charging stand.

BTW, Hero, I did get the red warning message the other day that I wasn't aligned correctly. That was true, I had put it on the stand rather crookedly. I corrected it and haven't had the warning since.

I figured it out thanks to someone on Reddit. I cleared the cache/storage, force stopped the app nothing could get it to do the pixel stand features. So I power cycled the stand itself and it worked... Ohh Google.....

I've been using my new Pixel Stand and I have some observations. The new stand is advertised to wirelessly charge with the same power you'd expect from a wired charger. The stand comes with the same 30-watt charger I purchased for my Pixel 6 Pro.

The stand charges my P6Pro in the same amount of time as my wired 30-watt charger. My experience has always been that wireless chargers were much slower than wired charging. This is not the case with the new stand.

My most important observation is that when charging on this stand, my P6Pro doesn't heat up. On the original Pixel stand my phone would heat up quite noticeably. Physically the vertical portion of the stand is not flat like the old stand. It has a scooped shape allowing air flow from the open bottom to the top. The inductive charging principle is undoubtably the same, so the difference must be the scooped back allowing free air flow.

It also contains a fan which might account for lower temps.
