Google Pixel XL - How is your battery life?

My Almost Unbelievable Pixel XL Battery Life
This was my first full day with my Pixel XL. I am coming from the iPhone 7 Plus. I have enjoyed every moment of putting it to the test today. Although I do find the phone is more scratch prone (luckily nothing major at all), I do find the overall OS better than my iPhone. I did not thing my iPhone had lag until using this Pixel XL. Now my actual post title is about my battery life. I have been thoroughly impressed. Initially at the beginning of the day I thought it was draining fast. I have been using my phone heavily today. Between Facebook, Tapatalk, Instagram, Twitter, Yahoo Fantasy App, phone calls, texting, Facebook messaging, and surfing the web I have done it all. I have been connected to wifi and even some cellular usage. Although I am not wanting to start another "how is your battery life" thread, I am interested in knowing how I got this good of SoT. Results in the images.

Was battery saver on the whole time and screen brightness? Bluetooth?

Battery saver was not on. Screen brightness is set to auto so it goes up and down depending on lighting. Bluetooth was turned off. I never use Bluetooth.

The pictures shows the brightness is set to 0. So basically unreadable.

Screen brightness is not set to 0. My volume is set to 0 though which is what the picture shows.

Screen on time is such a meaningless metric, I have no idea why people insist on presenting it as evidence for battery performance.
Install GSam and post your summary after a week or two of usage, anything else is just noise that can't be validated or normalized for usage patterns.
There's no way the average user is going to get 7 hours of SOT and everyone knows this.
Every pixel sold comes with 3450 mAh of juice. How you allocate that juice (this is your usage pattern) can either increase or decrease the ever so useless SOT number.

8 hours SOT is great, but you also only had the phone off the charger for 11 hours. I'd be much more interested to see if the phone can get 5 hours SOT with 20 hours off the charger.
I'm very happy with my battery. I can take it off the charger at 5am when I wake up, use it all day, take it to the gym, and make it until I go to bed at 9:30pm, and still have 30-40% left, with 2-3.5 hrs screen on time.
Way better than my Note 4. Even new, my note 4 didn't last that long.

I HAVE a MAJOR battery life issue....
I have had my pixel xl almost for a week now - yesterday when I got up it was at 35% finally got into the teens at about 4 pm... so I charged it up...
SO I am getting ready to be gone until evening, so at 25% I thought I better charge it a bit earlier.... so I start setting up my charger at my desk, I forgot about the OEM charger set up and was looking for another one - and it was from S5.... looked upstairs by bed and realized that was one from the Note 7..... Then I remembered the OEM one on my desk....
So battery life is SO good that you forget how you charged it the last time..... LOL

I was at 4 hours sot and 36 hours total yesterday before my battery saver kicked on at 15%. I'll do another stretch this weekend and be sure to screen shot it. Needless to say, I was happy.
