Google Pixel XL or LG V20?

I am going to post this in the Pixel forum as well but I want view points from BOTH sides. I know there will be some bias which is why I will do that.

I am returning my iPhone 7 Plus tomorrow and moving to Android full time. The 128 GB Pixel XL is back ordered until December. The 32 GB Pixel XL is shipping November 2nd but with twins on the way I need something with more storage. I will be taking a lot of pictures, videos, and I like to have movies on my phone. I do not feel 32 GB would suffice.

The LG V20 is in stock locally and reviews have been great. I like the 5.7" screen and I also like the 2nd screen on it.

I have never had a Google or LG phone so I am looking for advice. Thanks!

Why don't you do what I always do and watch every review you can... Side by side comparisons. I'm returning my Pixel XL for a V20. I'm not sure I'm making the right choice, but I'll have the two phones for 3 days to compare and decide which I'm keeping.

Everyone will have their opinions. Reviews typically state facts and visual demonstration of issues.

It's a tough call. Ultimately coming off the Note 7 I ended up with the V20 and so far really like it. For me the ability to use a large 256gb expansion card and the high quality DAC for audio were important selling points for the V20. Being able to replace the battery is also a nice bonus.

I've been doing that, and I've changed my mind about 700 times lol. I think if Verizon had the 128GB in stock I would lean that way, but I can't wait for a month. Verizon is letting me upgrade early due to a Best buy fiasco, but I have to make a choice in the next day or two.

So is this your first time using Android? If so welcome!

As far as which phone to get, it depends on what you're looking for.

I'm enjoying my V20 right now but if T-mobile was offering the Pixel/XL I would have rather gotten that. I prefer having a faster/smoother software experience and the Pixel's camera, and I also like stock Android. The frequent and quick updates are also nice.

Now that being said, the V20 has a lot more features than the Pixel does. It has a good camera that also has a pro mode, which for some makes it even better. Also the dual cameras with the wide angle lens is great. I also like having the SD card so that I can easily remove my photos abs transfer them somewhere else. I also use online backup but having a hard copy that's easy to transfer is also nice.

If you want to check out how these two differing opinions play out, check out the following as sources:

Today's Android Central podcast. They talk extensively about why they love the Pixel so much, and also why they like it better than the V20.

Flossy Carter's 'real review'. Flossy has a unique way of reviewing things, so he may not be your cup of tea. While he likes the Pixel, he talks about how to him it's a bit bland, and he discusses some of the features it lacks that he prefers.

If you are going to be capturing memories of your newborn twins, I would HIGHLY recommend the V20 due to its wide angle cameras on the front and back. You will be able to capture more of the family and the moment. There is no substitute or comparison to how fun and useful the wide angle is.

I've used Samsung but was not a fan of the phones. I have never used a Google or LG phone but I wanna get back into android.

Thats awesome! I'll be going to the Verizon store in the morning so I will look at both. I'm really intrigued by the V20 due to the SD card AND removeable battery.

Why did you decide to return the IPhone 7 plus ? It would meet the needs your describing!
The pixel is to close to a IPhone if that's not your style then the V20 might be or maby a S7e with Samsung?

I have a weird buzzing sound coming from the back of the phone. Got it replaced and still have the issue. Ultimately I do not want to try to go through many replacements to fix it. On top of that, I am tired of Apple and their inability to allow customization of my device.
