Google Pixel XL - Preorder /order/shipping thread

I pre ordered my silver 128gb xl on 10/15.

I got an expected delivery date of 11/18-11/21 like most on here which is fine. I have a flight at the end of November and I currently have the note 7 so hopefully it's not later than the expected date otherwise I'll be traveling phoneless it seems.

For those upset on inventory, we have to realize that Google was expecting to push out a few million handsets. That should increase immensely becuase of customers like me that love my note 7 but are not so forced to return it for the recall.

Comparing to Apple who pushes out 60 million handsets and still doesn't have enough stock is entirely different. Apple knows the turnout they will get and they roll it out slowly strategically, I think Google had no way to anticipate the extra customer base of the note 7.


*Hopefully they don't rush production on these and end up in a similar boat as Samsung

Also on a weird note. The night I ordered my xl (10/15). It said sold out on all versions of the xl. I originally wanted the 32gb and I wasn't sure whether black or white. It would only allow me to add the phone to the wait list but I added the original size pixel to my cart and then refreshed the screen on the home page like five times and the 128gb xl was off of wait list and let me add to the cart. I deleted the normal size pixel from the cart and then was able to proceed with check out. Maybe just luck or a glitch? Who knows

That's great. Bash Verizon all you want. Trust me I hate them also. But you won't have phone that works. Simple as that. Can argue all day long if you like and say "mine works great everywhere" and all that good stuff. But if your not on Verizon you DON'T have a phone. You have a toy with sometime reception. Had them all. Used them all. Travel the country for work 50 weeks out of the year. Go to almost every spot in the country. If you don't have Verizon you don't have a phone!!! Period

What difference are you trying to achieve?

The difference I M trying to achieve is to let them know hey if you want us to buy your product. Then don't botch these launches. Do you really think Verizon is happy with these flashy displays in the stores and no products to sell? If your a customer and you walk in to a Verizon store, look at the pixel xl and decide on that then they tell you they have no stock honestly how are you gonna feel as a customer?? What I think Google should do for people who havent gotten and keep getting a ship date pushed back would be a 25 dollar credit on the Google play store, would be nice

Lol OK I have been doing fine for years with T-Mobile and AT&T along with millions of people.

Nice Verizon cool aid you drink. Also, I hate T-Mobile and AT&T as well but I use them as dumb pipes and bring my own phone to use unlimited data on T-Mobile.

People bash sprint too all they want but it works perfect where I live and my bill is $100 cheaper than it was at Verizon

Seeing as I won't be in the mountains in Colorado or desert in Arizona anytime soon I think I made a smart call saving $2400 on my carrier choice and having unlimited

I also travel for work and pleasure constantly. I have a Verizon work phone, A T-Mobile tablet and an ATT cell phone. Hate to break it to you but in a large amount of areas where T mobile and Vzw do not have signal my ATT phone works fine. It may be just for talk but it's better than nothing.

But this is moot, every person needs to get what works best for them. The places YOU travel Vzw may be better, but for me that is completely not true, hell my company is investigating switching everyone to ATT soon...

Verizon has stock of 32GB Pixel and Pixel XL phones. They even have 128GB Pixels. They just do not have the 128GB XL. I can walk into my local store and pick up everything in black or silver except for the 128GB XL. It may force me to go to the smaller Pixel because I have a Note 7 and have a flight possibly as soon as tomorrow for business.

I just received a similar email from Verizon. I ordered the 128 GB XL black model from Verizon as well. Originally ordered mine on 10/14 also.

My original ship by date was 10/28. I am going in tomorrow and raising some hell. Probably won't do much good. My issue is that I have a N7 and fly for work a decent bit. Supposed to fly out next Tuesday. Is something doesn't give before then I will be forced to go to the iPhone 7.

Well I just had an insteresting online chat with a verizon rep, I questioned him about why I received my trade in box before actually receiving the pixel xl. He told me that since I already got the trade in box to hold on to it and that it means my order can not be pushed back and will ship on or before the 11/11 date listed. He also stated that I did not have to send the old device back until my pixel is received. We will see, I requested a copy of the chat transcript so if any of what he told isnt true i will go back and rip verizon a new one for lying.

No. Pre Ordered. I am on a business account but I don't see that affecting the order. Looking on Verizon's website it shows the Pixel 128GB shipping immediately so I may change to it. Not sure how I feel about the 1080p screen, smaller battery and smaller screen though.

I just had a very interesting conversation with a Verizon representative (of whose national citizenship I can not be sure) who was willing to put in writing that he promised my Google Pixel XL 128 GB (quite black) would be shipped tomorrow. I have the entire transcript recorded and I made sure to use the word "promise" specifically. I ordered on 10/16 in-store, and I used the fact that the human Verizon representative (at the store) told me it would be shipped by 10/28 as leverage. Not sure if this helped, and I'm fairly positive that I'm being fed a big pile of bull, but I just thought I'd share anyway.

As an aside I have not received the delayed shipping e-mail most have so far. And if my main paragraph was not clear enough, I ordered a Quite Black XL 128 GB in-store on 10/16.

I got email on 10/19, stating that it will be push back until 11/18. On the order status screen, it stayed 10/20 and all the reps said it will still be honored. Fast forward to 10/21 @ 12am, it switches to 11/18....
