Google Pixel XL - Preorder /order/shipping thread

I just had a very interesting conversation with a Verizon representative (of whose national citizenship I can not be sure) who was willing to put in writing that he promised my Google Pixel XL 128 GB (quite black) would be shipped tomorrow. I have the entire transcript recorded and I made sure to use the word "promise" specifically. I ordered on 10/16 in-store, and I used the fact that the human Verizon representative (at the store) told me it would be shipped by 10/28 as leverage. Not sure if this helped, and I'm fairly positive that I'm being fed a big pile of bull, but I just thought I'd share anyway.

As an aside I have not received the delayed shipping e-mail most have so far. And if my main paragraph was not clear enough, I ordered a Quite Black XL 128 GB in-store on 10/16.

Well I ask the same question are you trading in a an old device for the 300 credit?? That seems to be the magical thing that's not supposed that push it back.
Time will tell and If mine hasn't shipped by 11/11 I'll raise hell again
 
I got the email last night as well, 12/02 looks like the date. Hopefully they get them out a little sooner than that. 128gb black xl.
 
I got email on 10/19, stating that it will be push back until 11/18. On the order status screen, it stayed 10/20 and all the reps said it will still be honored. Fast forward to 10/21 @ 12am, it switches to 11/18....

Sorta what's happening to me with the 10/28 ship date.
 
It took me a while to realize all of these people having their ship dates pushed back have purchased their phone through Verizon. It'd be nice if people specified that these are Verizon ship dates that are getting screwed up. My GOOGLE STORE ship date is still holding firm at 11/23-25.
 
Had the same issue and had to pay in full for a V20 while waiting on Pixel XL to ship which is not until Dec 2nd. If you don't pay in full you are subject to their 2 week return policy while if you pay in full and note in the account that you are waiting for Pixel XL they will return the V20 and credit you back.
 
All the verizon people who recently posted, welcome to the boat.
I pre-ordered on October 14, pixel XL 128gb black, original delivery date was October 20.
It was pushed to November 18.
I'm hoping it will be earlier than November 18. And here I thought pre-ordering meant you wouldn't have to wait when the phone released...

Keep in mind it could be worse. I ordered the XL 128 black on Oct. 4 mid-day from Google, and I'm still in pre-order status with an expected date of Nov. 23-25. Yet I see other people who ordered from Google after me that have received their phone. While I like Google, in my opinion they have never been successful in preparing for a new hardware device launch. At this point I'm wondering if I might get the phone earlier if I placed another order and cancelled the first order.
 
I just ordered the Very Silver Pixel XL 32gb from best buy just now and I'm going to pick it up today at the store. I have a preordered silver 128gb XL that is in pending for Nov23-25. I just can't wait anymore, I want to play with one. haha. I'm going to try the 32gb one for a bit and see how my usage works with the storage. If it don't work out for me I will return it, or if Google ends up shipping sooner I will return it and wait a bit more.
 
I originally had ordered the Black 32gb XL a few days after launch but decided to hold out for a blue. I have a black iPhone 7 Plus so I wanted something different.

The Blue FINALLY came back available to order (Thanks AndroidCentral twitter account!) and I pulled the trigger. I should have it around the end of November!

Is this good for any phone? If so, I have no issue paying in full for a phone now to tie me over until my XL comes in as long as I get a full refund. Any more details on this policy?

Did you get device protection with your Pixel? I ordered the XL 128 Very Silver around 4 pm on Oct. 4 from Google and have the same Nov. 23-25 ship date. I emailed Google about a week ago asking what the deal was and the rep responded
"let me explain you that the deliveries would depend upon on the add on's that you have with the Phone, like Device Protection as this cases will have to go through assurant and then proceed further. "
This seems kind of rediculous and I am still pissed at the delay in shipping but maybe we'll be getting better phones if they have to double check them or something. Anyone else have a similar experience or more information about the Nov. 23-25 ship date?

I am in the same boat and I did the same order. If I had known I might not have gone with the black XL 128. I am thinking the silver got a better shipping date.

No, I really don't think anyone who ordered device protection will be getting better phones that have been double checked. It just sounds like they need to take the time to register those orders with device protection accordingly because of the added insurance. Device wise, no difference.

I ordered about 2 hours after the announcement on October 4th from the Google Store without device protection on a quite black 128GB XL. I wrote an email to support and they sent me back some weird email saying there was a mistake and my order was canceled due to the payment method. Although I look and it's still pre-ordered status, and also was paid with the Google Store Synchrony account lol. Um, yeah. That method is approved and my order is definitely not canceled. Not sure any of these reps have the slightest idea of what's going on with our orders. Still November 23-25th ship date.

I also ordered the sim card since I wanted project Fi as my carrier. That was my biggest mistake as i since found out that I had ordered direct from project Fi, I would have had my phone on 10/20. In fact, I found out that others who had ordered that same XL 128 phone through Fi up to a week after 10/4 have their phones by now. So last weekend on 10/23, I cancelled my google store order and re-ordered the exact same phone through Fi, and now have a delivery date of Nov 18- almost a full week earlier than my original order 3 weeks earlier.

So what can we can we infer from all this? Project Fi and Verizon customers clearly got first priority and continue to do so. Google is not so customer focused, not very transparent about the order fulfillment process, and they suck at supply chain.

I don't know if that is completely accurate. Ordered my 128GB Black XL on 10/14 with a ship by date of 10/28 from Verizon. At around 7pm on 10/27 my ship by date got pushed back to 12/02. I am interested to see what happens to those who originally got ship by dates in November. Will they be pushed back to possibly 2017?

Well they aren't doing very well with supply at vzw either pretty much anyone who had a 1028 ship date on a 128gb xl got pushed back to December!

I call BS on this as well,. When you buy the insurance when buying any phone it doesn't take extra days to ship because of insurance registration. Seriously in the era of technology we are in it makes about minute to transmit that info to the insurance company unless they are doing it the Fred Flintstone way and carving the info into rocks and shipping them to the insurance company. Google is getting bad at lying as the political candidates......
