Google Pixel XL - Preorder /order/shipping thread

So when I got my pixel xl 32g from best buy, so I could try out the storage and the phone to see if I would like the pixel. The Rep told me that if I got geek squad protection, you could return the phone at anytime. Without the protection, u only have the 14 days to return the phone, but with protection there is no time limit. That is what I was told, and i asked over and over if for sure after a month or 2, I could still return and they said yes. So I got the protection so that I could have this pixel xl 32 GB until my 128gb comes in. It is $8 a month or $159 for 2 yrs. Just thought I would let anyone know if you want to try it out until urs come in.

I'd be very leery of that. I doubt you will get a full refund back to your credit card. You could easily get a gift card for full value under insurance claim but not even Elite+ members get more than 14 days to just return a phone.

I'd talk to the store manager before your 14 days is up just to make sure. It would suck if you got stuck after the 14 day window because you got bad info from an employee.

The best thing about this is I am currently a T-Mobile customer with a recalled Galaxy Note 7, waiting for my Pixel XL to arrive so I can return the phone and drop T-Mobile for Project Fi.

I don't have another phone I can use in the meantime, and as someone who is self-employed, I need my phone for work. Giving it up for a month is not even close to a considerable option.

I even contacted Google about this, asking if there was anything they could do to help push the order along given my situation, and essentially was told that there was nothing they can do and the phone should arrive by Nov 23-25th.

As you can see, this is not the only thing I've pre-ordered from Google and have now been waiting a month for. It's starting to press my patience a bit too far, to the point I'm considering following others here and just canceling the order altogether.
 
Ordered my 128gb Very Silver XL on 10/4 straight from Google...immediately ship date said 11/23-25. Has remained in preordered state and not budged since then.

Coincidentally, my current phone's (Nexus 6) Wifi and Bluetooth bit it 5 days later, so ive been rationing and trying to sip my mobile data in the meantime. Id have new gadget impatience to begin with, but it's exponentially compounded by not having a fully functioning phone. Can't believe I still have more than 3 weeks to wait...
 
I was in the same situation as you with a November 23-35 promise date (I ordered on the 4th) and then 19 days later I ordered the phone again direct from Project Fi and the promised date is now Nov 18, of course I then cancelled the google store order. Wish I originally had ordered direct from Fi - would be enjoying my phone for over a week now. It's clear that Fi gets total priority which makes sense probably because google needs to show increasing enrollement metrics.
 
The supply issue is kinda ridiculous. I have a ship date of end of Nov. The phone will already be over a month old.

Iam starting to think about saving the money and keeping my Nexus 6p for another year and see what Google has next year

Valid point. ~10 months from the time we finally get our phones, there will likely be major buzz about the imminent release of Pixel XL 2.0.

I don't think that's the case. It seems other people here who ordered directly from Project Fi are in the same boat. I also signed up for Project Fi with my order, even though I ordered directly from the Google Store.

It seems like it's just completely random or the luck of the draw, which has to be particularly infuriating when you were one of the first to get the phone pre-ordered; seeing people who ordered the phone weeks after you already getting their devices while you're still stuck waiting for over a month.

I think Google has really dropped the ball on handling these pre-orders. It discourages me from buying directly from Google again in the future.
 
Ordered mine day one and it's still listed as preordered with a delivery date of 11/23....yet there are people that got there's weeks ago. I don't understand how this is working.
 
I ordered a black 128gb from Verizon on the 17th, and my order has shown an expected delivery date of 10/28, with the warning that they are awaiting inventory. Has anyone else had experience with Verizon and delays beyond what their order says?

My order had said similar to yours, expected ship date of 10/28.. then I got a message yesterday stating that it won't be shipped until the 12/2. Fml cause I am still stuck with the note 7 until I get the phone in
 
I gave up on my silver 128gb xl and got a black 32gb xl. I have 14 GBs leftover, and could've gotten it on the 19th... I'm trying to get them to still give me the daydream.

Is this through the Google store? Did you have the 32g or are you stilling wasting for it?
 
I ordered my 128 GB Very Silver Pixel XL from the Google Store on 10/4. At that time, I was given a date of 11/23 - 11/25. That hasn't changed.
 
I just got a text message from Verizon. Saying that my order has been received as of 10/30 and it will send me tracking info. I originally ordered on 10/14.
