Google Pixel XL - Preorder /order/shipping thread

Wonder if we are gonna see movement tommorrow as promised or another empty promise not delivered on by VZW?

Just in case I added a line with a regular black pixel and gonna give it a whirl,. Worst case the xl black 128 gets shipped tommorrow and I return the regular and pay the restocking charge

I don't think any of you will see anything before 12/26 from Verizon, sorry to be a Debbie-Downer about that. If the past is any indication of the future, they'll revise your date after they miss it - and it will be later than the people who ordered earlier (like me, who ordered before you and were supposed to get one sooner than you - until I cancelled). You might wind up in the 1/6/17 boat. Shoot by then, you'll be 3 months +/- from the next Samsung S8 variant/flagship. Might be worth waiting for specs/features to see. If you want one sooner, go through Google - and you have all the pluses of an unlocked phone. I'm still getting notices periodically for NowInStock.net Product Availability Tracker and In Stock Notification System - it worked for me...If you can keep an eye on it, you might get one too. I ordered mine on 11/21, and it's on the truck for delivery tomorrow 11/25. I wanted black, and am settling for Silver, a minor compromise from my perspective.
At this point, looking at VZW website for a 128 XL, it shows full retail price at $869, or $25/mo for 24 months ($600) - could be worth it to some to save $269, but you're locked in with VZW for another 24 months. Shipping is noted as 1/6/17.

The problem with Google is you are waiting to accidentally catch them on the website. At least I have an order in with Verizon. How many people do you think will go to a store tomorrow, hoping to walk out with a Pixel at a great deal? Then be disappointed, dumb move by both parties

Called Verizon. Tried to get in touch with someone in their distribution who could physically confirm the xl is there being shipped and they couldn't. I was told if I don't have a shipping confirmation by noon likely expect it at the Dec 26 shipping date.
Really disappointed. Might take advantage of one of their other black Friday deals today. Maybe the z force with free projector mod.
They did say the 128 regular pixels were being shipped.

Thanks I went and added a line with the regular pixel 128 give it a try,. The good deal for black Friday and extended return period for the holidays made it a no trainer to give it a try.

Side note,. The email I got back on Nov 11 said my xl would ship by 1126 which is tommorrow.....

My QB 32GB XL just arrived a little bit ago. It's updating as we speak. Quite Black is a bit misleading. It's basically the same color as my Graphite 6P.

You know what, I'm so disgusted with Verizon Wireless, had a bad experience with a Rep at a Corporate Store in Totowa, NJ. I bring in my Google Pixel XL to get it activated with a Verizon Sim. So I wait for 25 minutes, then I get called by name and I go over very nice and ask him to activate my Pixel-He goes, "Where did you get this phone?", (me) "I bought it from the Google Store because I ordered one from Verizon and it won't be shipping until 12/26, maybe, because I was supposed to get the phone on 11/18." (him) "Well, we can't activate that because if something is wrong with the phone, we can't be responsible." (me) "What!!?? The phone is unlocked and brand new from the Google Store. I just want a sim for it so I can activate it on the Verizon network." (him) "Well, you'll have to call Verizon and cancel your order for the Pixel XL before we can do anything." (me) "I was told on the phone with a Verizon rep that you could give me a sim, activate the phone and cancel my order in a Verizon Wireless store. What's going on here?" (him) "I'm going to put you back in the queue and you can call and cancel your order." So I'm ready to hit the jerk with something but I go and call verizon wireless while I'm in a Corporate Verizon Wireless Store !!! to cancel my order for the verizon google pixel XL. Anyway, about 10 minutes goes by and I'm called by a different rep and he says you don't need a new sim, I can use the one that's in your iphone 7. So he switches it from my iphone 7 into the pixel, does some stuff on his handheld and I'm good to go. Needless to say, what a BAD experience with a NASTY rep, I guess because I wasn't going to buy anything from him...or maybe because it's Black Friday and he wasn't in a good mood. I left the store in a hurry and called Verizon Wireless to complain about this dude's nasty behavior. They apologized.

Could have probably avoided the store and swapped sims on your own

Yes, but I was told by Verizon on the phone that I would have to get a new sim from them because the iPhone one might not be compatible. Well, it is. And I wanted to share the nasty experience I had with the Store Representative. Thanks for reading, just trying to unload my anger with Verizon. Most of the reps are great, this was one bad apple named Israel.

No problem, I think those of us who have been lied to by VZW should send Google an email as well,. Might not do a whole lot now but might help down the road

Well, I paid full price for the Pixel XL pre-order at Verizonwireless.com on 10/20. I was willing to wait for the 11/18 shipping date, but not for 12/26 which they changed it to because of their multiple promotions for the Pixel!! I should have ordered it from the Google Store to begin with. I wound up lucking out and being able to order the Pixel XL 128gb in stock from the Google Store. I placed the order on November 21 and had the phone in my hands on November 25!! Screw you greedy bastards at Verizon!

Verizon is terrible. Ex-verizon to Fi user. They will do what ever they can (outside reason) to keep you from converting a lower cost plan, adding an unbranded phone, or basically anything cost wise that would make them competitive. Their service as a whole isn't worth the headaches.

Always having purchased from them before, I was shocked at the Rep's behavior and the stupid comments he made upon learning I wanted him to activate my unlocked Pixel from the Google Store! Honestly, it made me think about leaving Verizon and I've been a customer for over 10 years!

He didn't want to help you because he wasn't getting commission. Verizon retail employees are reprehensible.

I was with them for 14 years. The original parent account went back to before Verizon existed. There was a time the service alone was once worth the trouble. But even since the original Bluetooth fiasco with there v80i, Verizon has been slowly turning their customers into enemies. I couldn't support that any longer. We can only speak with our wallets.

I have been with V for many years too, have a Pixel on Project Fi and if it is OK after a month or so I'm going to port my V number to Fi. I am a fairly light phone user so it may work out OK. Fi bill should be about half the V bill.

I never dealt with such a rude employee before...I work in a retail environment also, so I would not want to cause trouble for a person at their job, but this fellow deserved to be reprimanded by a superior. He made me feel like I wouldn't be able to get the Pixel activated on Verizon's network because it was purchased from Google Store.

Ended up being a quarter of the price for me.

OK, here we go. It's almost 26th let's see what big V is going to do! On another note, I was thinking this must be a phone so popular that Google isn't to blame they have underestimated the demand. But then I've checked how many pixel launchers have been installed and the number is still in 100K range. Now if my understanding of how the count of the app installs on the play store works is correct that means that they have shipped between 100K-500K devices combined (pixel and XL). In my humble opinion that's not that many devices. Not sure how you guys are feeling about it but I think big G have dropped the ball big time estimating the demand on their phones.
