Google Play brands Next SMS as a security risk

This past weekend the Google Play store disabled the app Next SMS from Handcent declaring it was a security risk. I have used the app for well over a decade and I have never had a problem with it. On their website Handcent said they are aware of this and are working on a solution.
If you use Next SMS for text messaging it may have disappeared on your phone. To get it back you need to re-enable it.

This should be resolved by now and my wife already had it enabled again. What sucks is that it requires you to set it up again from scratch.
